Hopefully we hear about some other top prospects coming soon—if not, that will be a tell in the worst way.

Appears AJ Griffin also was there at the same pro-day.

We really need AJ to move into the top 6......if we want Murray. If he doesn't maybe we consider him. Fans here do not seem to like him but as an SF he has a length (7' wing) is explosive, and is an excellent 3pt shooter. That does not help our PF position but if he is the BPA......

don't think he's BPA at 7 whatsoever.

theres a lot of chatter about Mathurin going at 5 or 6 too. Multiple avenues for Murray to fall to us at 7.

What is his weakness? I really don't know much about him. But he is explosive and was shooting over 50% from deep at one point this year (and that was with 50+ attempts) and he was highly rated out of HS. Just not sure why he has been so overlooked on this board. A lot of teams like him.

poor first step, shaky handle, so called defensive prowess is simply theoretical at this point, can't create for himself, and biggest red flag for me... substantial knee injury history. he is probably my least favorite draftee projected to go in our range. if it were not for the Duke/CAA machine, I don't understand how he gets lottery talk.

In my continual deep dives into prospects, i like Mathurin a lot more than AJ. Bennedict looks like a modern day JRich to me with tantalizing defensive potential. would not be unhappy if he falls to 7.

Agree on Mathurin

He's not close to being the BPA....
He's a good shooter, but other than that - he had very little impact on either end of the court for Duke last season. The 'idea' of Griffen is much more tantalizing than the reality of his play.

I like Mathurin, but on the Locked On Blazers podcast with the guy from NBA Big Board, he said Ben really struggled not only in spot up shooting (33%) but even worse on jumpers in the half-court offense. (26%) That is not very good.

Soooooooooo slow

I don't know who will draft him but it won't be the Trail Blazers.

Agreed. He should be much closer to the ~20+/- range IMO.

Yeah, Jeremy Sochan outshot Mathurin on spot up 3 pointers. Sochan shot 36% on those. I wonder what the rate is for Daniels.

Another thing is shot creation. Daniels has his floater and Sochan has his spin move. I don't think Mathurin has a go-to move in the half court.

Agree. I watched his clip directly after Ivey's. That juxtaposition WAS NOT flattering for AJ. At all. He is like molasses out there for a young supposedly top 10 pick. Moves like a laggy PF out there and was barely getting over the rim for dunks. With his knee history, he is a total no-go for me personally. He could have a solid bench career on par with Kyle Anderson and the like though, which is not your goal with a lotto pick.

You all may be right. The injuries are certainly a concern. But if you take that out of the equation, I am not sure I am buying everyone's reasoning. I respect it but I don't necessarily buy the notion that because he had little impact on Duke's season that he won't be better than the others in 2-3 years. Every time I watch Devin Booker I think "how the hell did he slip to 13". Oh yeah, he didn't show much on a Kentucky team that had a lot of talent.

Exactly. I love Kyle Anderson, and hope we sign him, but he’s no lotto guy
