By far my favourite comedian. First, I can relate to almost every single one of his jokes, second, he knows his history, and 3rd, he stands out from the crowd of comedians IMO. Plus, he's from the same town me and Chutney are from, and also the fact that most of his sh*t is relateable to the youth just makes him even more likeable.
I saw him in person last year when he came down to the GTA (Sauga) and the show was amazing.

However, in regards to his material, you have to watch his shows every year or show if you want new material otherwise most of his shows will just re-use materials that you've already seen. I just saw the Outsourced DVD and it was quite funny, although I had already heard most of the jokes.

My favourite joke by him would undoubtedly have to be the one where he makes fun of the Tamil guy at KFC with the real long last name, or probably the skit making fun of Bollywood movies.

I find him pretty funny as a comedian. He seems to always have a jolly attitude while telling all his jokes.

Nah, I wasn't born in Brampton but I've lived here pratically all of my life so basically I was raised in B-Town.

On the outsourced DVD, he tells the origin of that line. Basically, his dad didn't say that (his dad actually passed away 2 years ago by the way), but rather it was something an indian ref guy said. Him and his cousins were at some Indian party in the early 90's and there was a fight about to break out and this ref indian guy came in the middle, and was like "Hey guys, no phighting too-nite, or somebody gonna get-a hurt real bad!". He didn't put it into his act till like 2000 or so.

Other interesting notes about him is that he used to be an ametuer boxer and was a DJ as well as a breakdancer in his teenage years.

He was bound to be overhyped, considering he's like the first legit Indian comedian. I enjoy his material a lot (the first time I saw his act I was on the floor), but like Karma said, you have to wait for him to come out with new material.

I'm pretty sure that's from his earlier shows, before he actually got known.

His shows after the Comedy Central special (white shirt) have been great IMO. I saw one of his shows before he made it big and although it was funny, it still needed to be tweaked and reworked, which is obviously what he did.

Russell's amazing. The first time I heard about him/saw one of his acts was during a Saturday on the 2004 All-Star Weekend. I had trouble picking what to watch, his stand up or the Dunk Contest. His material is pretty repetitive, but since I'm brown and from the same area as him, I can relate a lot to him.

Overdone, boring, most people tell those jokes daily without half the "craze" he gets. He imitates a few Asians, does a little Indian accent, and makes some clicks to sound African. Everyone kills his jokes, I admit, his child abuse thing drew a smile, but now he's just stupid. And all of his other acts have the same crap as his Comedy Central one, or they're plain inappropriate.

Being Pakistani, I can better understand his jokes and relate to them more than others.
I personally think he's hilarious...
