OT Russell Wilson traded

Fuck ya fuck the Seahawks back to the free Willy days

And the Drew Lock era in Seattle begins...

Seahawks fans better hope they draft a QB.

will be a pretty bad season imho

This is awesome! They sold high instead of paying a declining asset $50 mil a year and handcuffing your franchise in mediocrity. Loved what Russell did but his head was getting a little too big. Glad they got a haul for him now.

interesting parallels.

hmm

That’s a lot.

But I’m not sold on any of the top QB’s in this draft, so if you burn a first on one, that may go down as an poor move.

What parallels? Not trading Dame as yet?
i admittedly no nothing about football, nor do i follow the seahawks. i have no idea what Wilson's impact is on the game or the community.

but Jody trading a longstanding franchise star who is on the verge of a large extension gives me some kinda pause.

Also interesting is that they left the ball in Wilson's court so to speak.

Yeah, I see your point. Especially if they want to keep Simons.

Feel like they’ll for sure draft a QB and maybe cut Lock

Wouldn't waste #9 on a QB this year, maybe if one falls to the 2nd but don't think there is a franchise guy in this draft

Look at Rodgers, Brady.. Wilson has a lot of time left

Interestingly, this mock draft on nfl.com has Pitt QB Kenny Pickett going #9 as the second QB off the board this year (though I think I like Sam Howell better).

I wouldn't touch any of the guys predicted to go in the first round except for MAYBE the Willis kid but even he is dicey in the top 10. This feels like a Goff/Wentz draft where teams will end up talking themselves into QBs and they will be average at best.

Interesting question a friend asked me following this trade, is Wilson the greatest sports figure in PNW history?

What if..... Joe Cronin has worked out a trade of the Blazers for the Seahawks......

Lillard to be the next QB of the Seahawks confirmed!

(Fun fact, Lillard's brother played QB in arena football.)

Is Wilson still going to try and bring an MLB team to Portland?

Griffey had a greater HOF-worthy career, but never had playoff success. Walton led the Blazers to a title, but had too short a duration. Russ is the only sports figure whose PNW career can boast both.

If it weren't soccer, Diego Valeri would surpass him, as he's done both and also won a league MVP.
