Air missile accident emerges as probable cause of crash tragedy

According to Azerbaijan Airlines, 37 passengers were Azerbaijani citizens. There were also 16 Russian nationals, six Kazakhstani and three Kyrgyzstani citizens.

An Azerbaijan Airlines crashed on Wednesday morning in the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, killing 38 of the 67 on board the Embraer 190, according to officials.

Euronews can reveal that official sources linked to the crash investigation said that while nearing Groznyy, the flight’s destination, surviving passengers heard an explosion followed by what looked like shrapnel hitting the plane, and entering the fuselage.

The information obtained by Euronews can be correlated with a news report from Azerbaijan-based international news channel AnewZ which quotes a Russian military blogger who claims that “the damage to the aircraft suggests that plane may have been accidentally struck by an air-defence missile system (SAM)”.

Groznyy is heavily defended as Kadyrov’s Chechen fighters are extremely important to the Kremlin and a high-value target to the Ukrainians which may explain an extreme action by Russian air defence action toward air activity above the city, as the Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft was approaching to land as scheduled.

If confirmed, this tragedy would mark a strong resemblance with the 2014 downing of the MH17 airliner by Russian-backed forces, also with a SAM missile.

Putin just apologized to the Azerbaijani govt for shooting the plane down during defensive artillery drills. Whoops.......THEY were not flipping coins! Go figure! CONTEXT!!!!! At some point you need to stop making the US govt the boogeyman for all your conspiracy theories. I know you're dug in on it but you really should get some perspective. I see you also now have Iran as a victim of American bullying eh? WTF? If I hated the US as much as you seem to, I'd question my decision to live here. Have you considered South Africa? That's probably a place that caters to your societal needs more than the US seems to or maybe, just maybe, you are addicted to trolling on the internet for the sake of trolling the internet? not people, just anti Americans who have become Russian propogandists.....S Africa is joining Russia in a bid to get away from the US dollar and they don't care for WOKE laws there much...just figured since English is spoken there, you might find what you so desperately seem to be searching for in a country of pro Russian anti-vaxxers. Choices I would make the same suggestion to Tucker Carlson ...America, love it or leave it. I happen to love it enough to weather the political idiocy of the newly elected orange party. I'll gladly watch rural folks regret their vote as their benefits and safeguards get gobbled up by the billionaire club.
