Who on S2 do you respect the most when it comes to their opinions about basketball? Either during the lockout last fall....... draft talk...... opinions on players........ reactions to big wins or losses. Whatever the topic, who's posts do you make sure you read and not skip over? I've got a handful of guys who I always make sure I read (and a ton I blow by), but I don't want them to know how much I respect them! This should be interesting........

the guy who was right about Imaginary Cap Space. What a cap genius!

and generally the old "Hoopsworld" crew I generally respect for in depth thoughts.

I'm serious. I am honestly wondering who has the most cred amongst the Nerd Clan here.

i think pinwheel1, HoopsFan, Nate Bishop (although he didn't post much in the forum I think)..most of them are on clubblazers though.

Damn..... I wanted some serious answers on this FAMS.

I think I do a pretty good job on finding links and sources.

In terms of basketball intellect and concept I don't think I have enough credit for a legitimate breakdown of the game to make construct points.

For the complete basketball genius here on S2, I can't think of the person yet specifically.

Why don't you start it off with who yours are?

Regarding the draft and college players, I'd say MickZagger is whose opinion has the most weight with me. BoobNoMore's posts seem to always be great. Can't think of people off the top of my head.. Is there a way to see who I've repped?

I'm going to say MaxieP......EdO drops knowledge even though I can't stand him...... And Zags knows his shit!

Well, HCP, maybe, HCP, we should talk about, HCP, who we don't listen to, HCP.

BTW, why are you posting this? Trying to start trouble?

Off the top of my head...BrianFromWA, BoobNoMore, BlazerCaravan, UCatchTrout, WizardMentor, STOMP, MickZagger, Nikolokolus, Minstrel...

I rarely skip over posts though, so I read pretty much everyone.

Definitely BenDavis. This place just hasn't been the same since he went away. He wasn't the most knowledgeable poster, but he sure kept the riffraff in check.

BNM

There is only a couple of people I skip over. I really like BrianfromWa, BlazerCaravan. The HCP is my favorite though because Mrs HCP said we could invite the HCP's sister in with us on the first road trip is I said so.

Haven't been around long enough to acquire a distaste for anyone in particular. But that sly dog can be a gnat at times

HCP is my fave. I always read his posts, cuz it gives me an indication of the best times to visit Mrs. HCP (not that I don't visit when HCP is home). Thanks for sharing the wife, FAMS!

BoobNoMore, e_blazer and Blazer Caravan usually:
1) make sense
2) base themselves on reality instead of fantasy
3) write in a reasonably literate fashion

If that seems like "damning with faint praise", actually it is not as all three are often sadly lacking on messsage boards.
That none of them have sexist avatars helps as well.

You mean like yours?

Nik, BNM, MM (now that coach Nate is gone), Minstrel, Masbee, Ed O, NB3, off the top of my head

As for Lord of the Nerds.... I'd say me! Ph.D. E.E., used to play D&D and was on chess team, now I backpack, play chess and Magic the Gathering, and spend too much time on this nerdy message board, writing a computer program for fun. Basically, about half of the stuff in Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" apply to me :) Like HCP, I'm hispanic, was raised in NE Portland, but am happy to be out of there. /thread

Agreed. If I read for posters, I'd be skimming through a lot of BS just to get to posts that are slightly less BS.

^not sarcasm.

Here's the thing; I think we've all had moments of clarity and moments of sheer craziness. I've read some amazing takes from just about every poster on this board (with the exception of HCP), so I don't discriminate. I think I've only ignored one or two people before I was a mod, and it was only temporarily. I like to read what people have to say about the team, and it's more fun to read posts from people who put some thought into it, and not just "the team sucks" or "yeah! go blazers!".

I read posts, not posters.
same. And a lot of times on my phone I will read posts zoomed in enough to where I can't see who the poster is, and when I come across something completely off topic and not basketball related, I know HCP has dropped his knowledge.
