Saddam was far from a good guy, he executed his son-in-laws, and lots of others close to him. he modernized Iraq only to keep power, had he kept them in the state they were in he would have been over thrown. He was far from dumb, he understood what he needed to do to keep control of power.

I find this whole thing sickening now, I'm so tired of idiot redneck (no offense redneck) mothers being so happy that Saddam's dead because their sons died in Iraq, as if it's Saddam's fault that your son's dead, I'm sure they voted for Bush's second term too.

They should not have hung him. Saddam deserves to suffer for everything he did....he got the easy way out.
