Pretty interesting and frank analysis devoid of the usual demagoguery you get when you hear people attempt to talk about this topic.

I haven't listened to this episode yet, but I listen to most of waking up pods. It seems like you and I listen to many of the same podcasts. What other favorites do you have?Pretty interesting and frank analysis devoid of the usual demagoguery you get when you hear people attempt to talk about this topic.

I listen to all kinds of things (podcasts and youtube regular broadcasts) to get a broad cross section of opinions (even people I find kind of disagreeable)I haven't listened to this episode yet, but I listen to most of waking up pods. Which is why Harris argues strenuously about supporting Islamic reformers and moderates (like Maajid Nawaz, et al.)Thank you for posting this message.
I agree with everything Harris said.
Too few people are listening to what the Jihadists say they want. And why and how they rationalize their criminal actions as being a religious mission. They are fighting a religious war which they believe they can not lose.
The Jihadists message and actions has been the same for 1400 years. The best any military action against them has been able to do over those many centuries is to get the Jihadist to accept a temporary truce. They are not even close to accepting a temporary truce at this time.
