Continuing her good run at the Guangzhou International Women's Open, Sania Mirza sealed a berth in the doubles quarter-finals along with Edina Gallovits, following a straight-set win over Sally Pears and Jermila Groth.

The unseeded Indo-Romanian pair beat the Australian combination 6-4 6-3 in the first round of the USD hard court event.
