Not sure why he deserves to have his name sullied by being in this thread, but Paddington was HUGE to kids who grew up in England. I used to love the books (and also another series by the same author about a Guinea Pig called Olga da Polga). There was a cute TV show when I was in elementary school:


I was kind of dreading the movie (because of recentish failures with other British classics like Five Children and It and The Magic Roundabout) but they did a perfect job. Also really highlighted the pro-immigrant message of the original.
Best thing Nicole Kidman ever did...

Congratulations to Barf I think is in order. By an unofficial tally, he won the competition among his peers, the mindless left prevalent on this board, for expressing the necessary gratuitous disrespect for one of their favorite punching bags. I would not put much faith in expecting she (Palin) will be successful in her suite, even though she was egregiously wronged by the press several times, the worst being accused of causing the shooting of Gifford.

Using words including “betrayal,” “humiliating” and “covfefe” and suggesting that management had compared them to “dogs urinating on fire hydrants,” copy editors at theNew York Times today let executive editor Dean Baquet and his heir apparent, Joseph Kahn, know exactly how they feel about taking the brunt of layoffs and buyouts as the Times expands its reporting ranks. The latest flare-up comes at a moment when the Times also is dealing with a libel lawsuit filed by former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin over a Times Op-Ed column erroneously linking her to violent attacks on public figures.
