All of the coaching positions seem to be filling up fast and Nate hasn't gotten one yet. That means either he is not in demand, or he is negotiating for the one he really wants.

I wonder which it is, and if he is in the driver's seat, which club wants him?

What do you suppose?

I think he has his sights set on two or three teams at most, and is holding out for one of those positions. I don't see him stepping into a situation where he doesn't think he can succeed on his own terms.

Beggars can't be choosers. The Hawks brought him in for an interview and decided he didn't cut the mustard and went in a different direction. He might have to settle with Detroit if they want him.

He better not hold out for a good team, because his talent is with a bad team.

Agreed, he is a good "bad team" coach, or to narrow it down even more a young undisciplined team. I think Detroit would be a great fit. College is a good idea for him also.

Who could pass on such a dynamic coach and leader?!

I've been saying this for years. I think he could be a great college coach.

That would be awesome. Shoot, he could coach @ Linn-Benton Community College. They could be called the Patroons. Yeah, that's the ticket...

Larry Drew has a new job, so there is hope for Nate

LBCC is the Roadrunners.

Yeah they might need to change their name.

Sorry about that. It was a (very poor) play on the Albany (NY) Patroons, a CBA team PJ coached back in the day.

Sometimes I feel like the blazers wasted some great opportunities a few years ago. I wonder what an actual good coach could have done with this team back then?

Is he still known as a "defensive" coach? I remember the Lakers wanted to bring him in as an assistant in that role.

Gosh! What ever prompted you to start this thread? Did you ever see the game this man put on the floor? I should imagine everyone is familiar with it now, hard to imagine wanting your team to play that game.

Hey Nate, 1953 called. They want their playbook back.

Notice that the teams that have hired have all hired no-name assistants. Or Larry Drew. They know they're not going to win, so they're going cheap. He will be considered for the better jobs. We didn't like his style, but he was pretty successful until a couple of malcontents led an insurrection against him. Kobe Bryant likes him.

Budenholzer's a no name assistant? He's been Pops lead man for almost 18 years.
