A University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Saudi Arabia died Monday one day after being assaulted on a street in downtown Menomonie police and school officials said.

Hussain Saeed Alnahdi, 24, was a junior majoring in business administration who enrolled in UW-Stout in 2015, according to a statement from the university.

"Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to Hussain’s family in Buraydah, Saudi Arabia, and his friends at UW-Stout," UW-Stout Chancellor Bob Meyer said in the statement.

"I want to make a personal appeal to anyone on campus or in the community who might have information that would help authorities locate the individual involved in the attack to come forward," Meyer said.

Alnahdi was assaulted shortly after 2 a.m., Sunday near Topper's Pizza in the 400 block of Main Street East by an assailant described only as a white male, about six feet tall, according to Menomonie. police.

Police found Alnahdi unconscious and bleeding from his mouth and nose before he was hospitalized and died from his injuries Monday, according to police and university officials.

University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross also expressed his condolences to Alnahdi's family.

"It is difficult to find the right words in light of such of a tragedy, except to express our sorrow for all that knew Hussain," Cross said in a statement.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Menomonie police investigator Kelly Pollock at (715) 231-8511. Anonymous information can also be submitted by visiting http://dunncocrimestoppers.com or by calling (855) 847-3866.

I hope they find the assailant.

Do you think it was a hate crime, gang violence, argument between patrons, or random?

No idea.

The middle-right leaning republican in me does not want those types on the Trump-train, that is for sure.
Hopefully this isn't a hate inspired crime.

Also RIP.

Final thoughts. I do question why this particular article makes headlines when there are countless others that die every day, almost comes across and agenda/narrative pushing....

It's a Wisconsin paper reporting on a Wisconsin murder. I'm not sure why you're questioning why it make their paper.

IN OTHER NEWS, DOZENS OF NON-MUSLIM AMERICANS INCLUDING SEVERAL WOMEN AND CHILDREN WERE ALSO BEATEN TO DEATH TODAY, BUT AS I SAID THEY WERE NOT MUSLIM SO NEVER MIND.

I think he was referring to the internet-wide posting of the article by hundreds of DNC propaganda sites and major media outlets shown to be illegally campaigning for Clinton. Just a guess.

In other news, odd this wasn't "in the headlines".

Muslim savage beheads American college student, Mary Hale from Oregon, unsuccessfully. University of British Columbia. Canada. Oct 6, 2016.

Mary was brutally attacked in her dorm room this week barely knows her alleged assailant, her father said Thursday. Witnesses said they were studying in the dorms when they heard screaming, and rushed over to find the victim being held with a knife to her throat. A Good Samaritan with martial arts training helped apprehend a suspect and hold him down until Mounties arrived.
The RCMP's university detachment has suggested the incident was not random, and that the victim and suspect knew each other, but the young woman's father said the accused was no more than "a nodding acquaintance" to his daughter.

"She said that she may have spoken to him once or twice, but she didn't really recall that even," Hare said. "He was certainly not in their friend group."

The victim is staying at a hotel, rather than returning to campus. Her father said he hopes she won't suffer lasting emotional trauma because of what happened.

"Mary is a strong kid," he said. "I hope she can get through this without having a fearful attitude toward other people."

Her accused assailant, Thamer Almestadi, is an 18-year-old from Saudi Arabia who was enrolled in Vantage College, a special program for first-year international students.

UBC confirmed it has banned Almestadi from returning to campus.
Immigration Minister John McCallum told CTV News that while applicants for student visas can be subject to criminal record checks, they're not mandatory.

"It's up to the discretion of the immigration officer. If they want to ask for a police check with regard to a particular student, they have the right to do so," McCallum said.

On Wednesday, Almestadi was charged with three counts in connection with the attack, including attempted murder. He remains in police custody.

Hare said the family was completely caught off guard by what happened.

"She was doing really well at UBC up to then, and we had no apprehension for her safety," he said.

You deleted this line from the article because it didn't fit with the beheading title of the video?!?

Oregon resident Michael Hare told CTV News his daughter, Mary, has been released from hospital after being treated for a gash on her neck, and is being looked after by her family.

Come on Maris, you're better than that.

You don't know the half of it.

Not that it changes the story in any way at all, but I DID NOT edit the story.

The link goes to the youtube vid with story, but my cut and paste is from a different news source that then linked the video which I included.

Here's the link to the story I posted: http://saudi-arabia.leadstories.com...ollege-student-unsuccessfully-ubc-canada.html

I see that rag is from Arkansas.

The Clintons certainly made their "mark" on that state before fleeing to their New World Order Dream Utopia.

The Clintons are old, but not as old as that. Hillary founded ISIS, not the KKK.

What is Maris' point? That a US citizen was killed abroad so it's OK for Americans to randomly kill a citizen of that country? Does the reverse apply? There are, sadly, visitors from other countries killed in the US; are citizens of those countries justified in killing random innocent Americans in retaliation?

only if they're REAL americans.

Read the Crusader article's second paragraph. From it, I infer that Trump knew 4 years ago that he would run in 2016. He probably would have run in 2012 if it hadn't been against an incumbent.

You can learn a few things even from that paper. (Not many, but a few. I'll read anything.)

I wish they wouldn't make it sound like it's a hate crime before they confirm that it was a hate crime.
