Wasn't Jarrett Jack in that same store a couple years ago at Christmastime on an NBC follow-around?

He has a wife and 2 daughters. Why can he not be in there shopping for them or someone else?

This thread is full of fail.

It is tradition in the NBA when traded, to buy the team captain a gift as a way of being accepted by the team.

Marcus was a little lost on what to get Roy, but after watching last night's game and hearing Roy's comments about a hamstring that has kept him out for 15 games and maybe the rest of the season, he figured Roy could use a nice pink handbag while shopping.

Very nice!

Chalk this thread up as another reason Portland being a 1 horse town blows..was this really thread worthy?

In LA, New York and Chicago, their fan sports forums are full of threads about how their players are doing diplomatic missions to Israel and working with government economic advisory commissions. Just much more sophisticated threads and players. That's what you get in the big cities.

WHAT??

I JUST BOUGHT ONE THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE IT!!

I will never buy from that store again. Now where are my keys....DID YOU TAKE THEM???

After seeing the title and author of this thread, I was certain that this post was gonna be about Camby's arrest in 97 for marijuana possession. Never mind.

Why is he shopping in his pajama pants?

All he had with him on the Clippers' road trip were a pair of slacks and jammies. He didn't want to wear the pants two days in a row.

Nothing wrong with smoking the ganja.

We already have a thread on gay NBA players. I'm glad he's not embarrassed about it, because it's perfectly cool.

The purse matches the color of your name.

I knew about this and remember it. But personally, it doesn't both me. I mean, how many people have skeletons in their closet? If this is it for Camby, who cares? At least we can assume he's laid back. This ain't on the same level as slappin' the women, effin some hos. Props to Camby for keeping it clean, otherwise.

I know this is ancient history, but in the interest of being Canzano-esque:

Camby was poked in the eye by Ferry and was being restrained by his teammates when he lunged after Ferry and threw a windmill punch. "He poked me in the eye, bloodied me up," Camby, still emotional, told Johnson in the hallway outside San Antonio's locker room. "I wasn't going to hit him until I saw the blood in my eye."

That's from the article. And this board still villifies Bonzi for calling Ferry a cracker and spitting on him? Looks like Ferry did something similar to Bonzi. Popovich has had several dirty players over the years. He trains them that way.

UMASS was put on probation after his recruitment because Bayno hooked him up with, "jewelry, rental cars and prostitutes".

According to a 97 SI article.

I would've accepted too if I was in college.

Hmmm...I can't find anything saying Bayno hooked him up...Camby's claim was that it was an attorney attempting to become his agent that did that stuff...

In fact, here's the article...there's no mention of Bayno in here.

I assumed it was Bayno since he recruited him. Plus Bayno just looks like someone who dabbles in hookers. I never really read the article.

Yeah, the violations came later on when the agents were trying to get their hooks into him before he went pro.

"Amateur" NCAA Div. 1 players is a joke anyways...
