Ya know, I just thought about when I first moved to the pacific northwest in the late 80s. I was 8 and the first friend I made there was a guy from the bay area, a big 49er fan. He had a gold and red jacket to prove as much. Being that they were the talk of the nation back then, I was actually a 49er "fan" for a bit. Even through the mid-90s, I would pull for them during playoffs (not like the seahawks were ever involved). Tbh, I still have no hate for the niners and I've always liked their unis (weird, I know).

Best unis in sports. Except for the black abominations.

I like the signing if nothing more than his floor is an average CB if healthy he will be a huge upgrade. 9ers were garbage against the pass last year.

Now go after an edge rusher, a WR, some o line help, maybe a LB, and then hit the draft able to go BPA all day.

For the Seahawks this move is really looking towards the 2019 season. The NFC West is fairly wide open. Seahawks should have made these types of moves a year ago. It is all about winning a Super Bowl. These moves get them closer as they weren’t on an arc to win a Super Bowl with these players.

I was a little bummed he went to 49ers but he is a FA. Will make the Niners games a little more interesting. I hope if the Seahawks fandom takes a dip I can get closer to season tix.

As a 49ers fan, I like this move. No way to know yet if he recovers 100% from his Achilles tear, but he was still playing at prime level before he tore it:

And that was with an already-injured Achilles, as it was reportedly bothering him before it tore.

If he recovers physically, I think he'll still be a top-ten cornerback (so, off his peak level where he was one of the top two or three corners) which is well worth the incentive-laden deal the 49ers gave him. The 49ers badly needed a starting cornerback and I prefer taking this fairly risk-free (based on the contract details that have come out) flier on Sherman than signing someone like Trumaine Johnson or Malcolm Butler to a huge deal with a lot more guaranteed money.

It was Joe Montana that made me infatuated with the 49ers.

Huh.....I actually didn't know that he was producing those numbers before his injury. I thought he was a bit past his prime.....doing okay, but not as good as, say, 2 years ago.

And to my knowledge, according to Sherman, he just had some bone spur shavings removed from his other ankle....not work done on his Achilles. I could be wrong though. He said it was a procedure that he's been wanting to have done for a while because it was bothering him.

Seems like the Niners and C hawks have a rivalry like we do with the Steelers, Bengals and Browns.IMG_0785ravens 15.JPG <I was lucky to get a seat this close at one particular game.
