Yep. You're exempt.

The 'street kids' of Portland make me sick.

What are we turning into, Los Angeles?! :beatinto:

I'd rather get 12 mpg in my SUV than buy a Hybrid, which looks like it is full of AIDS.

Couldn't agree more re: the "street kids." I'm not foolin' with this statement - I see less homeless people in NYC than I see in Portland. It's disgusting that our local government allows it so freely. Most of these kids are CHOOSING this lifestyle.

Wait, I'm not supposed to respond. Never mind. I didn't just say the above.

My boss drives a 2008 BMW and thinks he's pretty cool as he spends an hour and a half a day commuting.

I have no commute. When I drive my 1999 Odyssey to Starbucks to take a break from telecommuting, the pain of not going 0-60 in under 6 seconds is surprisingly easy to overcome.

Riding buses in Milwaukee sucks and extremely inefficient time-wise. I can drive faster than buses.

And going 0-60 in 15 seconds with a hybrid is an extreme waste of time and boring as hell. I want to hear the roar of my engine and take off fast, because its fun. At. 12. Miles. Per. Gallon.

Can't wait to get a new SUV. I'm thinking a bigger engine...

Some car manufacturer is going to build a sportscar that gets 40 mpg. It's a doggy, 4 cylinder gas engine car for your commute that basically lets you keep up with traffic. But you can hit a button that engages the electric motor that fires you from 0-60 in 4 seconds. The "booster" lithium batteries get recharged by the gas engine while driving. Front wheels driven by gas, back wheels by electric.

You get the great gas mileage and the insane thrill ride in one vehicle. Complete opposite of the Chevy Volt.

I cannot stand people who are for restrictions on gay couples and stand for the prohibition of a gay couple's rights to become married. It is absolutely sickening to me. It is one of those issues where some think, "You have your opinion, I have mine. There is no correct answer". I say bullshit. You have no right to restrict the freedom of homosexuals based solely on your religious "morals".

I can't stand those people.

Now do that in SUV form.

Something that hauls ass, carries a bunch of shit, and can get me through snowstorms when I'm out dicking around in bad weather.

Then we have something.

Gay people getting married makes my marriage less valuable. If one more gay person gets married, I'll divorce my wife and start fucking men.

I'm all for letting gay marriages take place. I think what happens between two legally consenting adults is not the biznezz of gov't. They should be entitled to the same benefits of married couples.

When I was in 7th grade in Washington DC, I saw two guys kiss... and that was not something I ever want to see again. But girls kissing girls, I never get tired of seeing that (unless they are ugly).

Since the convo has switched to 'the gays' ....

God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve

Oooohhhhh snap :ghoti:

Funny story.

When a childhood friend of mine decided to tell me he was gay... this was how he told me.

"Hey Tim. You know I'm a ***, right?"
To which I replied.... "Uh....no. I guess now I do."

Srsly. That caught me completely off guard. Not because of the whole gay thing. But how he slipped it into the conversation. Completely random.

Made for an interesting conversation with him that night, though.

What? F-A-G is filtered?

I think it's insane that people think because they pursue a deviant mode of having sexual intercourse they are considered a different subgroup or special interest group of people. It's fine with me if you want to do it legally, but that's your choice and it comes with the consequences of it (i.e., not being able to get "married").

An example...there is a constitutional amendment protecting free speech. If I speak out against my boss to say "You suck", I can be fired. My right to free speech is still in effect...the consequences are those I have to deal with.

To pretend it's "Christian religious principles affecting your life" is incorrect. Sure, the Christian religion as usually practiced denounces homosexual sex among its believers. Nowhere in the bible does it say to judge or persecute non-believers who practice it. Many of the laws from around the world that used to punish sodomy (again, I think that's wrong) were in countries that DO NOT have a Christian influence, much less a Christian theocracy. 70 countries of 195 in the world still have sodomy laws, though most "christian" countries (North America, Western Europe, Australia) have repealed sodomy laws (democracy in action? More like judicial review...not sure it would pass democratically.) Get off the "it's me against the Christian wacko's" kick--it's unbecoming.

Out of curiosity, has it been decided that this thread is exempt from site policy and is allowed to be a venue for racism/sexism and other forms of bigotry? I'm not currently pointing a finger at anyone, but asking for clarification (probably best from Denny Crane as resident High Muckity Muck).

Your the Portland mod.

Do what you want to do.

If you're getting complaints, I guess edit them. If not, eh, your call.

Well, let's stay away from bigotry. As far as I'm concerned, the site rules apply here. So saying explicitly bigoted things is still off-limit.

Saying something bad about illegal immigrants should be encouraged.

Killing them with my car should be legal.

http://sportstwo.com/forums/misc.php?do=cfrules

Gotta get any digs at human scum (illegal immigrants) in before Obama wins because these rules won't go far enough.

Anyone that wants to make it racist can suck one, their race is what makes them OBVIOUS...not what makes them scum.

What makes them scum is entering this country illegal and taking our shit.

Well, I suppose the thread does say ..."say something controversial."

And you've certainly done that.
