It's not ok to attack posters, I get that, but I thought it was ok to attack non posters? I don't see any overt attacks on posters in this thread.

Just did a google search of the term cracker and found out that it isn't likely to be based on what I thought it was, also learned a new word that I hadn't really known. Apocryphal.....

Just googled "Apocryphal" and am not sure where you're going with this. Are you saying "cracker" is a term made up by white people? Or just "false" in general?

No, sorry. I know Wikipedia isn't the bible but they had a bunch of different reasons for the term cracker.

The one that I had heard most is the one they describe as apocryphal, that is that the term cracker came from slave masters cracking the whip.

I always thought this was a reasonable definition of the term and thought WTF, call me a cracker, big deal?

I don't mean I wanted to be a slave master but that calling me the name of someone in the position of power isn't the worst thing you can do:dunno:

Yeah, it's huero. It really just means light skinned. They call their fellow Mexicans the same thing.
