Read it. Actually found it rather boring and loathed every character. But it should not be censored. I'd rather say let people read it, be bored, and realize nothing to make a fuss about.

You're right. It hasn't aged well. I still think Miller is a great writer in how he set the stage for the Beats. A better take on his character is the Anais Nin selected-diary memoir, Henry And June. She fell in lust with him for a bit and really got to the essence of his strengths and weaknesses.

Oh, I am restraining myself from jumping in here. Waiting for Sly to agree with Brian which it seems he may want to do. But dang! It's hard.
if it still is after 4 hours...you should see a doctor

yet you frequent S2 OT section? Hemingway was best at short stories not novels

I enjoyed reading his novella, The Old Man and the Sea, and his memoir, A Moveable Feast.

His eldest son Jack also published an autobiography, Misadventures of a Fly Fisherman, recounting "his childhood in Paris, education at Dartmouth, work as an OSS agent in World War II, escape from a German POW camp, and experiences fishing around the world."

I liked the novella published after he died...The Garden of Eden...great frickin' ending
