Hot-N-Now. 39 cents.

God, I lived off those 99 cent whoppers back then too. "One whopper and a water please!"
Those Hot N Now burgers were a staple for a few years! So many times we got stuck at home with friends and parents dropped that bag while they went out to eat.

Round Table was the spot for every little league celebration lunch. My parents are still devotees. I'm too cheap to eat there.
Round Table was also the spot for us after football games, that or Shari’s.

Round Table - good

Shari's - not so good

Just discovered there's a Round Table in Newberg. I'd hit it up, except Abby's is even better.

Sharis wasn't good but open 24 hours and they wouldn't kick high school kids out even if we didn't order much!

Group of us went to a restaurant, the cheapest thing on the menu was "extra gravy - 5 cents". So we ordered an extra gravy with seven straws.

The wait staff was not amused.

We’d leave campus for McDonalds for 24 cent burgers on Tuesdays. Otherwise it was Taco Bell for an enchurrito and a water.

I remember in college I ran out of money (drinking), so I would eat the $2.99 chicken strips basket deal at KFC for like a week straight lol.

In HS, my go to Taco Bell meal was a taco supreme and the 7 layer burrito.

Some buddies figured out the putting a coaster over a full glass of water, flipping it upside down, and then sliding the coaster move out, but they'd leave the tip in the glass of water. So the staff had to essentially spill the full glass of water. Teenage boys really are assholes!

I like to brag that I was both a teenager and an ass hole.

Lol we used to do that. Used the menu promo cards they put on the table

Okay, but how much is five cents in todays money? Like $50? Also, I am afraid to ask but what did seven boys need with straws and extra gravy?

When I wwaas a boy 5 cents would buy you a scoop of the very best ice cream, a pay phone call, a newspaper, a one ounce candybar. or a soft drink out of a vending machine. You could get a soft drink at the ice cream parlor including coke made with phosphate soda water and flavored syrup mixed together for three cents. The only sweetener was pure cane sugar.
