When I say “none” I mean that none of the guys I was ever in a platoon with (so I knew them all extremely well) were racists.

You see. This tells me you are misinformed. There are no high Caliber fully automatic weapons legally available. You can get a .30 caliber semi auto and and old .35 caliber. I was trying to be reasonable in offering to revue of and amendment. I could be persuaded to support changes. But until I see a specific change, noway do I support any change to the amendment or infringement of the right to bare arms.

Just so you know, I wasn’t questioning the vets in your life. Wanted to make sure you are aware that just because they served their country doesn’t mean they are squared away.
My opinion on this whole situation........ It would be great to get rid of all the guns everywhere. I feel society would be safer that way. I actually have lost more close friends growing up getting shot in NE Portland over the years, than I did in the military if you can believe that. Literally every one of them would be alive if there were no guns on the streets. That said, I understand people’s “wanting” them. I don’t feel people “need” them. Just my opinion. I know we can’t ban guns, but I am all for making it harder for them to get their hands on them. Whatever it takes. Make it as difficult as possible.
You disappointed me yesterday when you and others were blasting the kids who were voicing their opinions about the gun situation. They are using the same rights to be heard as you and your friends are to carry. Don’t understand why you guys on here were so upset at them. I would be so proud of my kids if they felt so strongly about ANY topic. Strong enough to share their values and beliefs like that to the public.
I have two kids who go to schools here in town. My youngest one is 12 and she came up to us the other night and looked me in my eyes and asked if she should be worried about somebody at her school doing the same to her and her friends. Man, I don’t know if you have children, but that was a blow straight to the gut. For somebody like myself who has put country before himself to defend people rights, this one hurt. I don’t want my little girl even thinking about something like that happening to her in a place she should feel safe.
I’ve seen 2 people shot and killed in my life........ I do not want guns on our streets.
I wonder what it would take to change the minds of people like yourself who so strongly believe they should be.

Seeing what hot rounds do to human skin did it for me.

You and the others have every right to your opinions obviously, but maybe step back a bit and see where those with differing views are coming from. Especially on such a heated topic. This goes for both sides of this debate. The hatred around here honestly scares me sometimes.

Hope nothing tragic like this happens to any of you on here regardless of your views.

Im all for gettinh guns out of criminals hands. Yes i do have kids. When my son was being bullied i taught him how to break someones nose with 1 defensive move. Then i tauhht him about humility. Just because you have the power doesnt mean you go out and use it. I exercise this in everyday life. I own several guns for defense only. Ive never brandished a weapon, ive never even told people about them except for anonymously on the internet. I taught my son that too. Yes i have guns, but the last thing i want is to have to use them. Kids arent taught humility today. The internet trolling and bullying is all about ego. Pretrnding everyone on facebook gives a fuck about what you had for dinner is all about ego. Kids have grown up in this society where parents are starring at their phones 80% of the day. Damn, now i hurt myself as i type this from my phone. Time to put the shit down and spend time with the kids.

And yes. I worked at a hospital. Ive seen gun shots, stabbings, 1 time i even helped the coroner take pictures of someone who was burned alive. Pulled a dead guy from a car once, his cousin tried to burn the body and when he failed he brought them to us. I maintained my composure and called the plate into the police and they caught the guy.

And now to use the emotional tugs you are fond of. I also carried dead babies to the morgue. Little bundles of phetus plasma as the pro abortionist would call them. Not sure why they went to the morgue since they arent people, right?

I still cant figure out why liberals want the right to kill their babies but then are scared of someone shooting their kids. Murder is only ok when it's your decision? Seems logical since you also want the right to say who can follow the constitution or not.
