Scoot/Sharpe/Ayton - Our Big Three?

We need one more good year of tanking to solidify our big 3. Ayton is nice but I want a top 5 pick this year so we can grab Holland or Sarr.
Unless we offload some dudes I just don’t see it happening. Or we have some injuries. But the league is watching closely this year and they changed the rules.

I don't know if we have a Big 3. The development of the team will be interesting to see. IMHO, coach is on the hot seat.

Ant and grant should be traded after spectacular first halves of the season.

We do not have a championship core yet. Need one more 5-star prospect.

You cannot plan to tank at the beginning of the year. This team is full of good players. Asking them to lose on purpose is going to bring down team morale and chemistry. Guys will also realize there's not a lot of space for them to leave their mark on this team. If we start winning, those questions get silenced.

If we suck for the first 2/3 of the year, then sure, tank the rest.

Best case scenario in two years Scoot and Shae are starting and both playing sound defense. Both at least at near-All-Star level. Ayton is comparable to at least David Robinson lite and makes the All-Star team. Ant is the sixth man of the year, being our Vinnie Johnson/Jamal Crawford/whatever lighting up second units. Jeremi is what he is now. Our frontcourt reaches it's now monsterous potential. We could have a big 4. I'm all in baby.

I hope Ant finally proves a lot of people on this board wrong this year.
He would have to make a noticeable improvement in defense, or rebounding, or passing the ball. Or more than one of those.
I don't think anyone doubts his ability to score 30 points in a flurry and bury the other team.
The criticism is about what he is as a player when he's not taking or making shots.

I think because tanking will be harder because of increased scrutiny, the extra picks will help with this.

Next Season’s Leading Scorers
1-Ant
2-Ayton
3-Grant
4-Scoot
5-Shae
I think the top 3 could all be very close in scoring per game, and Scoot and Shae not far behind and close to each other.

I think a lot of people are underestimating the effect of Scoot Henderson. The Blazers could go the way of the Thunder.
In Westbrook's 2nd season, the Thunder won 50 games. Two seasons after that, they were in the Finals.

Didn't they have two other future MVPs on that roster as well?

If Scoot, Sharpe, and Ayton are all going to win MVPs down the road, then I think 50 wins in 24-25 is reasonable.

Ayton is gonna win MVP this season.
Scoot will win ROY.
Shaedon will win MIP.

I think it’s more about having realistic expectations than underestimating Scoot. We can’t over or underestimate anything about Scoot at this point, we haven’t seen anything. That gigantic jump was also due to KD’s rapid growth as a scorer. If I were more confident that Shae will be a 20+ ppg guy by year 3 (KD was up at 30ppg in year 3 if I remember correctly), then I’d agree. It’s just hard to predict how much a rookie can actually change a team’s culture.

Remember, Seattle

Alex Sarr gives us a team similar to the Cavs, just on a different timeline.

Scoot vs Garland
Shae vs Mitchell (the threat of him leaving still remains)
Sarr vs Mobley
DA vs Allen

We also would have any of Ant, Grant, and TL compared to Cleveland’s most notable names (Sexton, Markkanen), who were traded for Mitchell. We’d also have a bag of 1sts that we can trade.

This one extra year to disregard winning (not ‘tanking’, just valuing developing over winning) is going to do wonders imo. In the west though, it might not take a lot of effort to lose games anyway.

Where did this come from? Did I miss something in the twitterworld?
No but he wasn't very happy in Phoenix and I'm counting the days to the article about how he wants out

Why would he want out?

He played on a team in the finals and was miserable.

He just wants to put up stats and play video games. Perfect place here for the next few years of Blazers tanking where he can jack up tons of shots, not worry if he skips playing defense, and have long summer breaks.

We’re trying to get a big five. By that time one of the big four will want to leave though, so we have to keep tanking.
