Scottie Pippen next head coach of the Blazers?

Anyone, and I mean anyone (Blaze perhaps) instead of McMillan!

On the topic of mentoring; I'd love to see LMA work with Olajuwon at some point.
Would really help to polish LMA's budding post moves.

Why not? Let's make this organization a total NBA joke again.

How many successful NBA teams have gone an entire NBA season without a general manager? Plus, why not plug in a bankrupt multi-millionaire as head coach!

The Blazers are Barnum and Bailey at this point, except those two have been replaced by Allen and Kolde.

Pippen practically coached the Blazers when he was here last time. I was down with him joining the coaching staff after he retired, and I'm still down with it. Make him head coach/GM/whatever. Just shake shit up.

Scottie Pippen next GM of the Blazers?

Blazers announced tonight that Scottie Pippen will immediately assume the position of Usher, Section 203.

barfo

Fine, Scottie Pippen next PG of the Blazers. We can pay him in donuts. He can trade them to Felton for his salary.

I still think Jerry Sloan would be a great choice if he'd do it.

You're joking, right?

Jerry Sloan didn't win a title with two Hall of Fame players. How is he going to come in as a senior citizen and do anything with this roster?

Hell, he ran Deron Williams out of Utah.

Yeah, that didn't have anything to do with Michael Jordan and the Bulls.

Sloan only made two Finals with Stockton and Malone in how many years?

Do you remember how good the west was back then? Houston had Hakeem. San Antonio had David Robinson and Duncan. The Blazers were kinda good for a little bit, if you remember. The Lakers were...... completely and utterly terrible, right?

Houston made an NBA Finals as a 6th seed when Jordan was retired. The Jazz were the #1 seed in the West that year.

Are you really giving Sloan the excuse of the Bulls?

Fuck ya, I am. He only lost to the team that won 72 games in one season. He only lost to the best player in NBA history. The Jazz were pretty fuckin good, and they made a series of it. It's not like the Bulls swept them. You aren't giving that guy very much credit.

Between our great roster and our great coach, it's no wonder we have such an excellent record!

Oh...wait...

He had two Hall of Fame players for 14 years, and he made 2 NBA Finals.

Sloan is overrated, and thinking he'd come to Portland and win with this roster is delusional.

That's two more NBA Finals than most coaches.

During the Jordan years; there was the league fighting to lose to the Bulls. End of story. If it wasn't for the Bulls, Portland would have another title. Phoenix couldn't beat the bulls and they had 2 hall of famers. New York had Ewing, Orlando couldn't beat them with Shaq, Grant and Penny. The Bulls were just that good.

And on a side note; only the Jazz took the Bulls to seven games in the finals. They almost won one of those series too.

I would think Scottie would be an assistant first. With how he has managed his money I would be concerned about him managing a team.

Jazz were #3 seed that year. They played the Rockets in the first round.

Actually they were the 5-seed in '94, now that I look back at it.

Lost to #2 Houston in the WCF.

Still, Jerry Sloan is the Marv Levy of NBA coaches.
