"I was soooooo disappointed with how last season ended," he said soberly. "And the reasons I got for it. . . . to me, I couldn't accept them. I wanted to prove that (10 seconds pass before he continues here). . . .I wanted to prove some of the naysayers wrong.
"So I stayed in the gym. I took a week off right after the season - the NBA Players Association meeting in the Bahamas - and then went right back to Luke. I was in the gym twice a day, just like I was before I got in the league. After that, I was back and forth with Luke and with the Nets. "He will be better able to utilize his athleticism, first and foremost - he'll be far more effective now," the GM said. "His jump shot is much better - he has a beautiful jump shot in the post. His form? It's just different, I'll say that. And, like with any player coming off a rookie transition, you'll see fewer mistakes. So that's what you're going to see."
