"I was soooooo disappointed with how last season ended," he said soberly. "And the reasons I got for it. . . . to me, I couldn't accept them. I wanted to prove that (10 seconds pass before he continues here). . . .I wanted to prove some of the naysayers wrong.
"So I stayed in the gym. I took a week off right after the season - the NBA Players Association meeting in the Bahamas - and then went right back to Luke. I was in the gym twice a day, just like I was before I got in the league. After that, I was back and forth with Luke and with the Nets. Worked with the coaches, with Kiki - I got as much knowledge from Kiki as possible."

As for what we'll actually see in his game, we asked Kiki to come up with three improvements that will be recognizable right away.
"He will be better able to utilize his athleticism, first and foremost - he'll be far more effective now," the GM said. "His jump shot is much better - he has a beautiful jump shot in the post. His form? It's just different, I'll say that. And, like with any player coming off a rookie transition, you'll see fewer mistakes. So that's what you're going to see."

Sean is going to dominate.

Do want.

A Harris, Carter, Sean, Yi, Lopez rotation in the future? If he keeps working hard, and raises his lateral quickness, I don't see why not.

I've read the article and... was like "wow"... Are they talking about Sean? Sean Williams? Dude who was so invisible in this summer league.

Vince's favorite expression whenever the Sean Issue comes up nowadays. . . .wow.

What's going on, people?! I want the season start!!

I'm thrilled that he is obviously taking this seriously and working hard. If he doesn't succeed, it isn't his fault, it's because he just isn't good enough. Whatever happens, he deserves unending support from fans, whether he succeeds or fails.

I obviously hope he is successful, but nothing is worse than a talented kid that blows his chance by trying to coast by on just his ability. Good luck, Sean.

How many minutes do you think he'll be getting? Will they go up or down with time, as some of our other big men progress?

You know, Coach Frank is an equal-opportunity coach. He won't hesitate to move minutes around if a player deserves them. But he sees things that we don't; he knows what each player should be doing in each play.

Carter and harris are the only ones that are assured big minutes, the way I see it. Of the remaining players, two will always be hurt (although which two will change over time), and two will prove to suck and be buried by the end of November.

This is going to be one weird season.

I don't think he'll earn many minutes. I still have no faith in him ever becoming a productive player.

Listen, theres no reason what-so-ever that Swat can't develope into a Josh Smith, it may not happen right away but hopefully this season we see him make steps towards it.

I'm really glad that Vince is trying to help these young guys and in their NBA careers. Before he used to work out with Antonie Wright every offseason when he was here and now he's trying to help out other guys on the team. It really shows a different perspective from the usual "he sucks as a leader" stuff.

I can't wait for the season to start, I really want to see how much he has improved. A lot of the time teams create buzz for certain players better the season starts and they aren't really as good as advertised so I guess we will have to wait and see. Sean has my support though, he's a good guy.

MVP, DPOY and MIP all in reach.

Maybe even COY?

If the Nets reach 45 wins then I think it's safe to say that Frank should be mentioned for COY.
MVP? The only player from the Nets that I can see getting an MVP award is VC. That is if he comes and rips every team from the get-go. Swat has the tools to be a great defensive player but I don't think he can win the DPOY award just yet.

I can see Harris getting MIP, possibly. And if he's REALLY good, a MVP.
CDR or Brook, ROY perhaps? Maybe even Anderson? who knows. can't wait for this season.

Haha, just meant for SWAT.

He's going to take over for Frank come December.

 If we win 45 wins Frank automatically enters the HOF.

The only possible award from this team is Brook Lopez as ROY. But even if he starts every game and averages a double-double (can't expect more than that), he won't win because Oden will be doing the same and better, and Beasley and Mayo will score 20 ppg, etc.

a LOT of people have Harris as frontrunner for MIP, and I wouldn't really be surprised to see it.

Possible, but unlikely. I don't see Harris improving THAT much from last season. He'll improve, but he won't become an all-star all of a sudden.

But, that's definitely my 2nd most probable award scenario from this team.

i dont think MVP is gonna come close to a net for a while... MIP, and 6th man award... we do have simmons :p hahahhah
