In the Nets loss to the Celtics, one positive thing that has been learned is this young fellow can play. In his brief encounter against Kevin Garnett he showed he can defense against a very tall excellent player in the post. He clamped down Garnett totally. Frank would be well to consider him to
start or relieve Collins or play in the crucial fourth quarter. Next time the Nets should do well against the Celtics.</p>

Yeah I have to agree with you there, they almost won on the 4th quarter last night, at the end. Glad Celtics made it through victorious. But it should be a close game next time.</p>

welcome to the boards. I'd love for Sean to see some more minutes progressingly as the season goes on, but I think it'd be ideal for him to learn the ropes as soon as possible. Of course, it's a long process, but he's well on his way I think. I for one, love his explosiveness and his defensive abilities. He and Wright on the floor at the same time can be a strong defensive force. I hope Sean remains a Net for quite some time to come.

I think KG is tired in the 4th, so Sean could handle him easily. Sean still did a good job though.</p>

But Frank HAS TO play this kid every game !!</p>

I agree with you, that Sean should definitely get more minutes. I say don't start him at all this year unless he really proves it (like better numbers, defense, and effort than any other big) but at least give him the minutes he deserves. I wanna see this kid continue to prosper with this team...he showed alot in this past game.</p>

Capstraw says he expects Williams to be the starter this season. Considering that I expect a collapse soon, he should be starting sooner rather than later.</p>
 
I would have never expected to hear anything about Sean Williams starting this year, but life's full of suprises.</p>

I honestly think Sean could be a canidate for rookie of the year if he plays enough, I know Kevin Durant's basically got it all but locked up, but at the very least he could make All-NBA rookie team.</p>

Either way this team falls, we have a good future in Sean Williams. I'm happy with him.</p>

exactly! We should be trying to give sean williams as many minutes that he can handle but we shouldn't throw him into the fire too long. We have to make sure that he is the best player for the situation. If cat, boone, allen, and even collins can do a better job that night then we should put them into the game. But as of now sean is playing well and i personally think that he earn's the additional mins...</p>

Meh, i dont know about starting him just yet. His energy would give us a huge boost off the bench, plus if he starts he might get into early foul trouble. I dont mind him playing close to starter's minutes though.</p>
 
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that our season depends on Sean Williams being a key piece in our frontcourt. Sean Williams is so far our best hope in a two-way pf/c.
Therefore, Frank should quit diddling with the lineup and just play the talent and ride the chemistry. play Sean Williams until he fouls out. every damn game.
 
Sean has some rookie plays where he isn't sure where to go, or hesitates for too long while going through the motion O, but he doesn't make that many mistakes. With the rest of our big men I get frustrated by dumb plays they make: turnovers, not finishing, etc. I don't see this from Sean.</p>
 
Taking Sean Williams out of the game tonight cost the Nets a win.</p>

He has so thoroughly outplayed every other player over 6'8" that it's impossible to justify NOT giving him 30 minutes a game. Keep in mind that the only reason the Nets ever rallied against Boston was that this kid came in and changed that game. And tonight, they never would have been in a position to win had he not played significant minutes. His impact is so obvious that even his older TEAMMATES are excited when they see him on the floor. Srew this overblown "raw" crap. The team can compensate for his shortcomings far better than they can for any other Nets big man. And what he gives them they can't begin to get anywhere else.</p>

The sour puss "Me"gloire will almost surely pout about his DNP, and there will be locker room friction if it continues. Ship him out at first opportunity if he does. The handwriting is on the wall that if the Nets want to go ANYWHERE this year, they need Williams to get minutes and mature. Should be one of their top priorities.</p>
