Following him on Twitter you would never know he's a Blazer guy now. All he does is Tweet about Seattle sports and Democrat stuff, I'll learn his name when he starts calling games.

So, I guess that makes Festus Ezeli that Golden State guy and Evan Turner that Boston guy, at least until they start playing games for the Blazers.

What's Luke Jackson up to these days?

If you're just going to mindlessly throw out the names of random former Oregon college players with absolutely no broadcast experience or other qualifications, where's the love for Luke Ridnour and Freddy Jones? At least they have some actual significant NBA experience to draw from in their commentary.

I know it's a different outlet, and probably plays a lot less, but our new play by play guy was THE voice of the NBA for ESPN radio, even calling the finals for them. He gave up that national gig to come call games for our little Podunk, small market team. So, it's not unheard of.

Different stages of their career/life. Calabro vs Barry/Smith.
I think Calabro is a unique situation (lucky for us).

Festus is all about Portland on Twitter talking to the fans and trying local restaurants, and I'm sure Evan Turner has done some stuff on Instragram by now (I don't have one so idk for sure).

As far as vocal chords go it would be funny to have Crash do commentary....Gerald Wallace talks like Barry White

Shame on him for drinking Blue Moon (Coors company) as his "craft" beer of choice for the night.
With millercoors and anheuser busch merging, there will no longer be craft brews. They will be priced out and/or bought out.

10 barrel is my favorite and they got bought ought. Meh.

He's retweeted several things Blazer related.
I'll be honest. I started following Calabro the day we found out he was headed our way. Not that it's his responsibility, but he hasn't really said much about the city or team if anything. Maybe once the season gets closer he will. Also, didn't really dig, but maybe he's not a big twitter guy.

I like Calabro...I'm sure he's got a lot to organize settling into his new job and probably looking for a home as well....he'll have plenty to talk about soon enough..I just hope he picks a top notch side kick...

yeah I saw this last night and thought it was a done deal. Thought it was weird though how it was just a small foot note and not a headliner

I think it is a done deal, just hasn't been announced yet. I'm hearing the announcement will be early next week.

I retract my previous statement saying that SPD should get this job.

jlprk is the best candidate. He should be given a constant stream of LSD and his own whistle, allowing him to stop play whenever he has an important comment.

Not just an ordinary color man folks, but a multi-color commentator dripping information.

They'd have to redo the Moda Center in black light posters

BeerBoy just runs around tossing out info without revealing his source!
