I guarantee the only reason why he's throwing a fit about the wall right now is because he knows that if he doesn't get it built before the next re-election, he'll have nothing to stand on.
 
Not sure what all the fuss is about? China already found the answer.

Build the wall, then turn it into a tourist attraction. Then use the tourist revenues on something that will work.

The question is whether step 2 is necessary or not:

1. Build the wall
2. Wait 2000 years
3. Turn into tourist attraction

Not sure Americans have the patience for step 2.

China's Great Wall is still to this day the most effective border security measure in their extensive border security arsenal.

The great wall of China did not stop anyone, unless it was manned by a very large army.

When the guard was reduced, people got past the wall into China. Enough got in to conquer China, twice. And that is leaving out what Japan did to them in WWll,

wow...just wow...you realize that wall didn't keep out the Mongolians eh? It literally protects nothing even though it's 5,500 miles long and has been rebuilt from dynasty to dynasty, the original wall doesn't exist anymore........cheaper for you to just wall in your property and avoid traveling to Central America or Mexico. The great wall of china is a graveyard of slave laborers...the emperor that came up with the idea went crazy from drinking rice wine in porcelain cups that was toxic...they didn't know...he killed a lot of people for his crazy wall....now I understand why you like the idea so much.

The Great Wall is now a ruin, as it's first sections were originally built over 2,000 years ago, added onto throughout the centuries but eventually left for decay. It served it's original purpose for most of those 20+ centuries.

Ghengis Khan and his Mongol Horde were completely repelled in all attempts to cross the wall, but eventually traveled around the wall to invade as it was not completed at that time, only large unconnected sections existed.

It is true the then-decrepit wall did not stop Japan from invading with bombers and fighter jets in 1933, but it is indeed credited with being the difference that allowed a tiny Chinese force armed with swords and clubs to hold off Japan's enormous, modern military for several months, and much like the Alamo inspired Chinese to enlist and oppose the occupation until Japan was eventually defeated in 1945.

It is considered by historians to be the single most important and effective man-made defensive structure in the history of the world.

Since our wall's purpose is simply to keep freeloaders, drug smugglers and terrorists from sneaking across the border, not jet planes, tanks and armed forces, it's just plain stupid for anyone to claim it won't do the job. They know they're lying and we all know they're lying.

When you have to lie to achieve your goal, it's a given that your true goal is a lie also.

A wall won't keep anyone out. That money would be much much more effective spent on electronic surveillance and more border patrol agents. If you're bound and determined to throw good money away on a useless wall, why not get Mexico to pay for it. Sly, proposed that you start a go fund me account.

In his lifetime, Genghis Khan led his Mongolian army to break through the Great Wall not only once, but several times at Wusha Fortress, Juyongguan, Zijingguan, and Tongguan, etc.
