Politics Securing The Border With A Wall, Duh

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

These guys don't stand a chance in the deep South. Them guys will nail them to a cross and set them on fire. My Alabama great grandfather once killed a Black who didn't measure up to his expectation of groveling to a White and threw him in the incinerator at night. Still alive when he was burned up? Who knows but I wouldn't have put it past him.
Lanny, I have a bunch of family in the south and non would tie anyone to a cross and set them on fire.
Im talking about MS13 do some research on these animals we really don't want them in Portland Metro or anywhere else. These are not your urban gangs these guys are much more ruthless. They are leaving a trail of inhumane destruction and death.

They’re scum bags. So are lots of people. Lots of groups. What we need to do is examine how much of a threat they really are and bounce that against our politics. Our choices. Our fear. And how that fear shapes our decisions
whats to examine but their trail of death and destruction, all i'm saying with politics out of it, they need to be dealt with now. Peace, I wasn't attacking you , you are one of my fav posters and I respect your opinion for sure. This subject of ruthless gang killers hits close to home with me and my fam.

Of course they are but they are not alone.
I'll bet your family is not from Alabama. When I was working in Atlanta I remember my dad hiring a crew of bricklayers and hod carriers who talked about how they were on the volunteer fire department in Rome, Georgia. They laughed as they bragged about how they let a Black family's house burn down without lifting a finger to help. There's some harsh people down there. Sure, they're good to you and me but that's because we're White.

Illegal Aliens Released from Local Custody Commit More Crimes—Honduran Freed 10 Times
JULY 16, 2019

Judicial Watch https://www.judicialwatch.org/t/images/judicial_watch-logo_schema.jpg https://www.judicialwatch.org

Following a Judicial Watch lawsuit, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reinstated a reporting system that informs the public about illegal immigrants who commit crimes after being released from state or local custody. The offenders are shielded by sanctuary policies that ban local law enforcement from honoring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers placed on illegal aliens who have been arrested on local criminal charges. If the detainer is honored ICE takes custody and deports the criminal rather than release him or her back into the community. When law enforcement agencies fail to honor immigration detainers and release serious criminal offenders, it undermines the federal government’s duty to protect public safety.

To pressure municipalities that protect illegal aliens, the Trump administration published weekly Declined Detainer Outcome Reports highlighting state and local governments that did not comply with ICE’s detainer program. The troublesome logs included details of illegal aliens who committed all sorts of atrocious crimes after local authorities let them go and identified the law enforcement agency that released them. Published on ICE’s website, the reports ignited outrage among open borders groups and their mainstream media allies, who complained that the information was controversial and discriminatory. One mainstream media outlet actually reported that “immigration advocates also criticized the list for singling out the criminals among undocumented immigrants without acknowledging the contributions of the broader population to their communities.”

DHS caved into the pressure and temporarily suspended the informative weekly Declined Detainer Outcome Reports. Judicial Watch immediately launched an investigation, requesting records from the agency under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and subsequently suing for the information. Sanctuary cities violate federal law and put the public at risk. In the last decade Judicial Watch has also gone to court to fight sanctuary policies nationwide, including in Arizona, California, Illinois, the District of Columbia and Texas, to name a few. In California alone, Judicial Watch has sued several municipalities for protecting illegal immigrant criminals. Among them are San Francisco, Los Angeles and Pasadena, though practically the entire state shields illegal immigrants from the feds, including serious criminals.

In fact, the reinstatement of the Declined Detainer Report includes a small sample from just the Golden State. ICE recently announced the report’s comeback and revealed it will be issued on a quarterly basis. “In order to increase transparency surrounding the immigration enforcement process, ICE will produce the Declined Detainer Report on a quarterly basis, beginning in the second quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018,” the agency announced recently. “The report will highlight cases where ICE issued a detainer, the detainer was declined, and the alien subsequently committed a crime after being released from state or local custody. Because ICE is often not alerted by uncooperative jurisdictions when a detainer has been declined, and because ICE may only learn of the detainer having been declined after an alien is arrested for a subsequent offense, the cases contained in this report are examples of a broader public safety issue and are not exhaustive.”

The comeback report offers alarming details involving 16 illegal immigrants who committed crimes after being released by various California law enforcement agencies during a three-month period. Some were arrested and released multiple times by the same local law enforcement agency after committing felonies. In all of the cases, ICE issued detainers but local police ignored the federal agency to protect the illegal alien from deportation, instead freeing the perpetrator back into the community. Offenders include Mexican, Honduran and Salvadoran nationals charged with murder, rape, assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of illegal drugs and other serious crimes. One 23-year-old Honduran man was booked and released in San Francisco ten times in less than a year for crimes ranging from burglary, vehicle theft and driving without a license. In each of the arrests, ICE issued a detainer but the San Francisco Police Department disregarded it and let the man go.

Chris Crane, a veteran ICE agent who serves as president of the union that represents some 7,600 officers, reminds that this is only a tiny snippet of a national public safety crisis because the agency doesn’t have the manpower to track everyone released. “If I was working in a sanctuary city, my released criminal aliens that would reoffend would be more than five a year,” Crane said.

What cowardly transparent lies! You are worthless as a participant in any honest debate,
insulting in this manner is in itself...cowardly and hardly honest nor debate worthy.....

Why don't you rebuke these dudes? Not affecting you personally?
Its sad when people would rather fight politics than stand up for civility against these scum.

I don't think anyone in here supports gang members, other than maybe El Prez.
Rebuking them in a spot (S2) where they'll never see the rebuke doesn't seem terribly useful or productive.

I have family in Auburn & Mobile Alabama. Also, Statesboro, GA and Florida.
My Alabama family is all in the Decatur, Huntsville, Birmingham area. One of my aunts went steady with a grand wizard. Her deceased husband used to sleep with a gun under his pillow which he planned on using to kill Blacks. One of my uncles used to joy ride with the window rolled down and swing a chain against Black boys riding their bicycles. My great grandfather murdered at least two people of which one was black and one was white. My grandfather liked to drink moonshine to excess and get into fights which he never lost, not even once. Had to cut one huge guy across the back of his neck with a straight edge razor which he kept in his boot, to win the most vicious fight. My cousin was on the Birmingham Swat team and to this day dislikes Blacks.

My mom's side of the family is all in the Atlanta area where she met my father when he was stationed there in the Army.

I remember when I was there in the mid 60s a guy by the name of Lester Maddox was running for governor of Georgia. He owned a cafe and a hardware store. When restaurants were beginning to get integrated, he told his restaurant patrons to come next door to the hardware store and grab some pickax handles, made of hickory, and they should use those to keep the "Niggers" out.

Even in those days Blacks would get lynched for not being polite enough to a White, especially a White woman.

These same people would be in church every Sunday. They even had occasional all night sing ins one of which I attended. Other times they would play with rattle snakes as a sign that they were true to God. I did not attend that but I heard about it.

I've lived down there and I've known just how rough some of them can be.

My aunt on my father's side, lived in Florida. While there she witnessed a gangland execution and had to be put in the witness protection service. She then bought two night clubs and two liquor stores. Some men asked her to sell one of the night clubs. She said no thanks. Shortly after her night club was burned. I worked with my father restoring the night club. She sent me to the bank with one day's take. I looked inside and there was $100,000.00 back in 1966. She married a small time gangster. I was reading a Life or Look magazine in the dentist's office and saw where he had been murdered on the side of a road in Louisiana. She then married the sheriff and all her gangster trouble disappeared.

My father and I used to take an occasional weekend off to visit my grandparents in rural Alabama. One time we stopped for gas. I got out and went to get a drink of water from a drinking fountain. There were two fountains, one said Whites and the other said Colored. I drank from the Colored one. They must have thought I was one of those shitheads from up North even though we had Georgia license plates.

I can only conclude that either you were isolated from a lot of the South or didn't spend much time there.

Pence slams CNN for 'dishonest' coverage of detention center visit; says America 'deserves the full story'
By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News

Vice President Pence tours Rio Grande Valley migrant facilities
Pence and some Republican senators toured a migrant holding facility along the southern border as Democrats on Capitol Hill tried to shame the Trump administration over its handling of border crisis.

Vice President Mike Pence blasted CNN late Friday night for what he described as the network's "dishonest" coverage of his trip to a migrant detention center near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pence, along with reporters and a group of GOP lawmakers, flew to McAllen, Texas, where he participated in a roundtable discussion with Border Patrol agents and toured a detention center. The vice president spoke with several migrant children and asked about their treatment at the facility with the help of a translator.

CNN's primetime coverage, however, featured only visuals of a large group of adult male migrants behind a fence attempting to engage with reporters. During CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" program, the network played Pence's interview with CNN senior White House correspondent Pamela Brown on a split screen, showing only footage of the adult migrants and none of the footage of Pence visiting with children.

CNN MIRED IN A CREDIBILITY CRISIS AS RATINGS CONTINUE TO COLLAPSE, EXPERTS SAY

Later, CNN's Chris Cuomo criticized Pence's interview remarks and accused him of providing "spin" on the facility conditions. "Cuomo Prime Time" also made no reference to Pence's visit with the children.

The vice president apparently took notice, as evidenced by Twitter posts.

"CNN is so dishonest. Today we took reporters to a detention facility on the border for families and children and all told us they were being treated well," Pence began. "The crisis at our southern border is not a 'manufactured crisis,' it is real and is overwhelming our system. To show this, we also visited an overcrowded facility for adult men, many of whom have been arrested multiple times. These men were in a temporary holding area because Democrats in Congress have refused to fund additional bed space."

He continued: "Rather than broadcast the full story, showing the compassionate care the American people are providing to vulnerable families, tonight CNN only played video of men in the temporary facility and didn’t play any footage of the family facility at all... ignoring the excellent care being provided to families and children. Our great @CBP agents deserve better and the American people deserve the whole story from CNN!"

"Our great @CBP agents deserve better and the American people deserve the whole story from CNN!"

— Vice President Mike Pence

CNN did not immediately respond to Pence's comments.

Several CNN anchors -- including Cooper, Cuomo, Don Lemon and Wolf Blitzer -- previously rejected President Trump's warning earlier this year that there was a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"You can build a physical barrier. But why say it's a cure-all to keep back this demonized group of people, like this marauding horde that doesn't exist. [Trump] created all of this. It's all bogus," Cuomo said Jan. 11.

"Let's talk about his imaginary Latin-American migrant conspiracy," Lemon said April 24. "This is part of a long history of him making things up about the caravan and the border crisis."

"President Trump will speak tonight from the Oval Office, trying to sell his border wall to a doubtful nation, as his administration uses falsehoods and misstatements to build the case for what it calls a crisis on the border," Blitzer said Jan. 8.

"Now, it's not our job to advocate for or against a given policy," Cooper said Jan. 8. "It's our job to call out the dishonest pursuit of it. So, as we wait for the president to speak about what he calls the crisis on the border, we're starting with the crisis of credibility he's created for himself."
Pence is about one IQ point above Trump. Yeah, he's really that stupid.

I just found it odd that there were not any comments rebuking the actions of MS13. And of course you can rebuke actions of conduct anytime, anywhere.

Lanny, I realize the south has and still is racist in many area's and I have spent time there and do have relatives there too. I acknowledge the awfulness of that kind of conduct weather its in Mobile Alabama or Lake Oswego, Happy Valley where I live. At the same time and my point was that the MS13 murderous trail that is being layed is another abomination of humanity yet many are silent regarding them too just like those that turned their heads with racism regardless where. That's all.

But what's the point? We argue over politics because we each have some influence, however tiny, on election results. In theory, we might be able to convince one another to change our vote.

None of us get a vote on gang membership. Nothing we do or say will have any effect on gangs. None of us are likely to join a gang, with or without the encouragement of other posters. None of us are likely to interact with gang members, other than @MarAzul , who gives them a beatdown on a regular basis. So we can all agree that murderous gangs are bad, but we can also agree that giant meteors striking the earth, or any number of other things, are bad.

True.

Because I don’t truly believe them to be a threat and their existence is used to instill fear into the paranoid GOP. Just like isis and terrorism. It’s all fear based bullshit and you’re falling for it.

This is close to, too stupid to survive. I would say, you may learn better, but no one deserves the encounter.

There you go again barf, exaggerating. Only once did I encounter these assholes. Ha! perhaps because I took the advise of the police and stayed out of town (Oxnard).
But, going back to SO Cal this fall. We shall see.

WTF is so hard to understand here in Portland town about these assholes? Is it so simple as you can't touch them, so they don't exist? You can't believe a report?

PS More likely to run into Antifa in Portland. I guess I avoided it by a day, on 5th and Madison.

I'm not going to defend MS13 but I do want to put things in perspective. They are not the salient problem in gangs. According to the FBI there are, at most, 8,000 to 10,000 member of MS13 in the U.S. That's less than 1% of total gang membership in our country.
Trump is using this to appeal to his base by trying to make a big deal out of a smaller problem. That's his modus operandi. Before that it was ISIS infiltrating our border. Before that it was all the Muslims entering our country. Before that it was all the people from 'shithole' countries. But it's never been the violent KKK or Nazis or White supremacists. And why is that? It's because they appeal to his feeble minded base from which he garners most of his votes.

Sure, MS13 is a problem, a nasty problem, but they are not alone as a problem. We've got thousands of gangs to contend with.

Oh, and may I point out, I doubt it is quiet people that is getting the MS 13 gang deported.

Understand but if you research the difference of MS13 and other gangs here, it will better put it in perspective. If ebola started to spread here in small numbers, I wouldn't think it would matter what your political preference is, we as a people would jump on it in quick fashion as we all know how potent the disease is.

I think it is also illegal in international law to deport natural born citizens.

Funny you should mention ebola. One of my doctors happens to be a personal friend of the guy who is responsible for all infectious disease in the United States, Dr. Faucci of the Center for Disease Control. While ebola is a nasty disease, it's by far not the only nasty disease we face, much like MS13 is not the only nasty gang we face.
I think the fear of MS13 is overblown and the result of people trying to politically exploit the fear factor.
There's a lot of criminal activity in the United States to fear but MS13 is only a small fraction.

Which ones can you deport and solve the problem?
Only one I can think of at the moment. Perhaps you could also do ISIS.

Although if you do ISIS then you will have the gang of four on your ass. Lhan Omar defended the Somali's that joined ISIS.
Antifa? Naw, mostly Americans, can't send them anywhere.

I hope you are not implying that Im a fearful person that only has been exploited for political purpose's?
No brainer that there is a lot of criminal activity, my brother in law is a Homicide detective and he would tell you that MS13 members are by are far more ruthless and blood thirstier than most gangs.
Its a good thing they are being rounded up and deported.

Read the fine print on your passport. If you join a foreign military you can be stripped of your citizenship.

Yes, this is true. But then when you do that, you become their citizen not ours. I guess I should have said, you can not deport your citizens under international law. But then again you can if they are not natural born. I think the point is, you can not create a person without a country but cutting them for yours. They do belong somewhere, incorrigible as they maybe.
