We do have one of the most talented rosters in the league. Right off the bat, we have a PG that finished 4th in MVP voting. CJ is a top 10 SG. Aminu is one of the league's best defenders. Nurkic is one of the best young centers. Add talents like Harkless, Curry, and Baldwin and we have a roster most teams wish they had. I'm not reaching at all. A lot of people here just don't appreciate what we have.

Can we please be a little realistic? We have a star in Dame, a really good offensive player who is way below average on defense, and a C+ center. The rest of the roster ranges from projects to useful journeymen to dead weight.

And can we please also cut the silliness about how this is one of the youngest teams in the league? Dame, CJ, Aminu, and Hark (4/5 of the starters) are vets. Collins is the only member of the rotation who is actually that young.

The oldest player on our team is 29. We are a VERY young team.

Much of what you say is true, but the whole 2nd youngest team argument is misguided. I am willing to bet we don't have the 2nd youngest ROTATION in the league. Who cares about the scrubs at the end of the bench? The players who are carrying the team are vets in their prime.

I mostly agree with you and I absolutely appreciate what we have unlike some who seem as though they would be happier by losing more.
But I am still going to be realistic. The western conference was fierce last year. It’s gonna be like walking through hell this year.

How is it going to be walking through hell, lol?? Teams should fear US. We're an extremely good team. Disappointing playoffs, yes, but that won't all of the sudden make us a bad regular season team overnight. The West added LeBron, okay, but we'll be just fine. Last year, people said all the teams in our division got better than us and we still beat them out and got the division title.

On that day if you told me that as of today we would still have the 2nd youngest team in the league, not missed the playoffs once and also finished as the 3 seed in the crazy tough Western Conference. Dame will have been 1st team All NBA and had finished 4th in the MVP voting... I would have been ecstatic.

REALITY: Blazers may have had healthiest team in NBA last season, full training camp with entire roster, the rest of west teams all dealt with major injury... and yet Blazers were only 3 games from being entirely out of playoffs, then got swept by a mediocre Pelicans team, so 3rd seed meant nothing. DEAD LAST in NBA in assists and fast break points. Dame and CJ will be 28 and 27 next season so they are what they are. Over half our salary cap dedicated to 2 players who do the same thing... and being over the luxury tax... and a GM unwilling to shake things up.

The thing is, both of you are right, and by combing these two posts, we have proper context.

This thread has really gone off the rails. But I would like to say how much I appreciate this. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the greatness of dame, he really is a special player. This team has almost always exceeded expectations (even though the expectations were low). We would be nothing without dame. Best blazer ever.

No this is acknowledging that at a time during the season we were near or at the top of the power rank in bags which is reality. And as much as people are talking about the Blazers sweeping things under the rug what about the loud angry voices sweeping things under the rug here.

They will put me under and shock my heart into a normal pattern.....half my heart is not functioning much...only pumps 25 percent of the blood I need...I have systolic congestive heart disease....docs say if I stick to my rehab I could get it back up to about 55 percent in 6 months or so....it's not curable but with proper management and diet I could live another 20 years...without it, I'd have 5 years at best

We didn't even "barely make the playoffs." We lost to Memphis and Dallas and went 0-4 on a road trip and STILL got 3 seed. We aren't a threat at all to miss the playoffs unless Dame and CJ have major injuries. You guys....
