Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn rotator cuff, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Bryant, who was being examined by team doctors Friday, suffered the tear during the second half of Wednesday night's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, though sources said he has been dealing with this shoulder injury since the preseason.

Can't say I'm sorry to see him go.

I am sure he will selfishly try to return next season. Whether he can physically play or not at that point will be another story.

I played 2 years of varsity basketball with a torn rotator cuff. That was in the days before doctors had any treatment for it.

It was incredibly painful when it was aggravated. I couldn't brush my hair or teeth with my right hand because of it. When it wasn't super painful, I was find to do all things basketball It didn't hurt if someone banged into it or anything.

dude has broken my heart enough that I cant talk any trash.

How was he doing in the all star voting? I assume this opens up a spot for more deserving players?

Hahahaha Kobe - done? You really think he's not going to milk that cow until he's 50? He will come back and shoot underhanded from half court as long as someone pays him.

Usually you only remember one great star in a decade because it's been 20 years... that we can only think of one now IN THE YEAR means we have shitty stars right now.

Andrew Wiggins is the real deal. He's the future.

Kevin Durant.

Anthony Davis.

Boogie Cousins.

Derek Favors.

Jimmy Butler.

Kevin Durant.

Durant is Clyde Drexler. He will never win a title in a small market. He will get close, but until he coattails on a large market team with couple of already-established stars, he won't win anything.

Clyde won in Houston. Houston isn't a huge market, is it?
