On a 57-40 procedural vote, the Senate could not get their version of the Defense Authorization Bill to a floor vote. The bill contained a provision to repeal DADT.

Joe Lieberman, Republican in Democrat clothing, says he'll bring up a bill to repeal DADT on its own. This bill is cosponsored by Democrat in Republican clothing Susan Collins.

There appears to be bipartisan support for the Lieberman/Collins bill, and it's likely to pass.

So the only way they can repeal DADT is using it as a rider on a bill.

I hate that. If it can't take a stand alone vote, then drop it. Don't attach it to something else.

It looks like it will pass (be repealed) as a stand alone bill. I think the Senate has basically repudiated Harry Reid's way of doing things. By that I mean ramming it down peoples' throats, without debate, using parliamentary tricks, etc.

This needs a graph to show where the 2 liars paths intersect as they cross reverse streams of deceit.

Scientists can only speculate whether the event will cause world peace, or create a rapidly widening vortex that will eventually swallow all mankind.

Really? I see no change.
