And that wasn't the point of my analogy. The point of my analogy was this: I may not be a parent, but I can still think like one. You know why? Because I was once a child raised by parents.
Shocking, I know!
Why not just tell them the truth?
Sometimes people say stupid stuff that they should not have in the first place, people make mistakes and people learn from them. Done and done.
Sorry, that opinion isn't allowed here unless you're a parent. Apparently.
"Looked you in the eyes" crap? Say what? And if you recall I dismissed myself long before you. You are the one who felt you could be the expert in this area from the sidelines.
Your exact words were:
I bet that is real easy for you and I to say in theory until your real actual daughter asks you that question face to face, point blank when you are least expecting it.
So yes, you did try and play the emotional card with me. And I'm serious: no child should be afraid of a politician in this country. We are not living in Sudan, where the next warlord uprising might mean the difference between life and death.
This is America. There is nothing to be afraid of that Donald Trump alone is going to do. He's a person, not a God...despite what his hat-followers may preach.
You know...recently, I had a very similar debate with a group of people on GlockTalk about parenting. Some argued that, because I wasn't a parent, that I wouldn't understand buying my 11 year old child a $700 IPhone 7.
Now....read that sentence again, and then take a guess how many pages THAT argument went on for.
And yes....one of the members on that forum did exactly that. No shit. Bought their 11 year old child a $700 phone. No joke.
You don't need to be a parent to see some of the dumbass mistakes that real parents make in this world. So don't lecture me about my supposed ignorance on the subject. I've personally seen far more failed parenting than I care to in this life.
Teaching your child to fear Donald Trump? They only fear the man if you let them become fearful of him, or if you taught them to be that way.
So which is it?
