...yeah, I get that, but again, "no comment" or "I'm not at liberty to say" would have sufficed and also would have been just as politically correct. And if Hal does come out and "change the official story", well, that only confirms that he was lying.
...as far as "the deal", not sure how ARod could "back out of the deal...."I'm pretty sure it was a one way deal and ARod didn't really have a choice or any other recourse,...gotta believe that it was more of a "ARod, you can leave with what little dignity you have left and accept this "advisory role" or we'll simply cut ties with you and you can draw your ill-gotten salary on South Beach".
Simply put, the Yanx are unfortunately obligated to PAY ARod, but they are under no obligation to PLAY ARod.
...and Hal is also talking about a possible future spot in Monument Park for ARod?...what kind of crack head shit is that?
...just last week he lied his ass off when Michael Kay asked him about the possibility of replacing ARod on the roster...Hal claimed that it "had not been discussed".
...does he really expect us to believe that BS?...he could have simply said "No comment", ...but to say that the subject "had not been discussed", well, that's a flat out lie. The subject has probably been discussed within management for a couple of years now and on multiple occasions.
No comment generally means no fucking way, and that wasn't the message he wanted to send, although likely the one that is closer to the truth.
Rather he was patronizing in the other direction. It's all moot, no room at monument park after Jeter gets in there.
