I took a media literacy class - in this class we learned about a bunch of things - one of them was subliminal messaging. If you don't know what that is, it's basically a very, very faint suggestion of anything - in TV it is usually alcohol, sex, and drugs; you may not notice it conciously, but your sub concious mind picks it up and stores it in your brain. The reasoning for this is - when in the future if you do end up buying cigarettes for the first time (or alcohol), you will most likely pick the company that you saw in that one commercial. Usually most commercials don't emphasize the brand, instead they put something else like a really hot girl, or some kind of reference to sex or making it seem that if you drink you get girls, or whatever - you probably know this from beer commercials such as Budweiser, or Miller lite - most of those commercials are about something totally unrelated to the actual beer - like what do the "Man Law" commercials have to do with drinking beer? Again, the affect that this commercial is striving for is that if you drink this kind of beer, you are more of a man. Really? Thats what they want you to feel like - and who doesn't want to be 'the man' - thats why you gotta drink their beer. There are many famous examples of subliminal messaging - like the Lion King one where when Mufasa was looking in the clouds at night, the clouds spelled sex - thats just one example; there are many many more. lol here's one I thought was hilarious: tell me what you think this one is trying to show - and yes this is a KIDS cartoon. Go watch some of your old kid cartoons and you will be freaked out by some of the characters actions.http://thatvideosite.com/view/2743.html
