SF WANTED? TRADE? Outlaw out for months, Batum till March and Webster sucks.

SF? How about PF back-up? As it stands right now, that's where we are thin at. I don't want to bring in another SF, we need someone that will be able to help Pryzbilla rebound on the second unit. Right now, we have no one.

Gerald Wallace isn't a 4, but he's averaging 11.8 RPG and playing 42 MPG. If we always had at least two of Oden, Przybilla, Wallace and Aldridge on the court, rebounding wouldn't be a problem.

As I just posted in another thread, Martell + Rudy + Blake for Gearlad Wallace works under the CBA. The tough part would be convincing Charlotte to do it. Wallace has three years left on his big contract. Martell, Blake and Rudy are all cheap and Blake is expiring. Charlotte is a bit cash strapped. So, $3 million in cash might help a little - and perhaps some draft picks or rights to some of our stashed (not stached, they already tried that and it don't work out so well) Euros.

this board is funny... hey lets trade half our team for an all star 3 so that way we can have the western all stars as are starting five! yes! :solodance: .... Here in the realm of possibility and understanding lets assume that other teams actually value there players and the ability of players such as Gerald Wallace, Danny Granger, Butler etc... and maybe just maybe there not willing to trade them to fit the Blazers needs. And there's also the fact that these players actually do care about playing time and money. who do we trade for any of those three above.... it would have to include one of our big 3 most likely because guess what.... teams are only allowed to have 15 people on there roster... ssshhhh don't tell anyone!

OK! so lets say we are playing NBA 2k10 on the xbox and everything is as easy as matching money up and nothing else matters... lets trade all of our core role players for a another star that will demand shots, minutes, money, etc and lose any kind of a bench so they all can play 40+ minutes a game because we know we can turn the fatigue option off if we wanted to, they wont get tired at all. I just find it amusing how easy people think it is to do these things... "hey we will give them 4 of our guys for 1 of theirs so they will do IT!!!, 4 is better then 1 right?" The fact is we have players who can fill in temporary, these players have not died they WILL be back.. its a reason teams have 15 man rosters is for this particular situation..

anyway I was just waiting for a file to upload to mega upload so I can e-mail it... all I want to say is  and RELAX a little fellas and just enjoy the ride because it WILL be bumpy. :shitstorm: :smiley-peace:

Gerald Wallace isn't an all-star. Never has been, never will be. He is a very highly paid role player. He's a VERY good role player, but he's not a star - in spite of being paid like one. He has nearly four years left on a contract at averages out to over $10 million a year. Perhaps Charlotte moves him to save money.

As I said in another thread, he may be difficult to get, because he's the kind of hustle, hard working player Larry Brown loves. But Larry Brown is not the GM, and he's certainly not the one signing the payroll checks. So, while Charlotte may value him, given their financial situation, poor home attendance and the fact that they have almost no chance of making the play-offs with, or without, Wallace, maybe they will value the costs savings more.

True, hes not an all star but he comes off as a person who believes he should be treated like one... but does he really solve our problems anyway? he brings Hustle and D, he can drive it... not a solid shooter... and with Roy and Aldridge signing for big money, Miller getting paid... and Oden, that will be getting paid does it make sense to go after a player like that? I just dont think with the players we have we have to make any moves and people on this board over react to everything on a nightly basis. Just ride it out because we a very talented young Batum who fits those same needs... I would be in favor of a move eventually though because I think we have people that will eventually be frustrated with lack of minutes when we have a healthy roster... I just think if people bring up trade talk, make it more realistic and sensible... stuff that would make more sense for both party's.

Good post. Well stated.

I suggest you take a bit of your own advice and just sit back and enjoy the ride . . . because these trade ideas are never, ever going to stop here. Nothing you say will stop them or even reduce their frequency. Apparently, it is our right as Blazers fans to cherry pick whatever talent every other team has and offer them Steve Blake, Outlaw and a late first round pick and call it a day (then wonder why KP hasn't or can't make the trade happen)! It's always amazing because these trades are always advertised as realistic, fair and beneficial to all teams involved . . . but most of the time it's just Portland basically ass-raping the other team. Get used to it - it won't be the last preposterous trade idea you're going to see.

No, I know this, nothing I say will change anything.. I was just bored while waiting for a file to upload... and thought I would give my two cents on these trade ideas... :ohno: ( For some reason this is easily the best smiley to me and that is no lie)

I am kind of surprsied nobody wants to see Cunningham get a little burn before making this decision. Sometimes in order to find out if somebody can play, you have to give em a run in the real NBA world and see how it works out.

I vote for this. From what I've seen of Dante, I like his game and I think he projects to being a capable replacement for Travis down the road. He looks stronger, with a better court sense, on offense and defense. He has a good mid-range shot. He should get a chance to play some minutes when they mean something, which is a whole other animal than playing when the real game pressure is off. This is where Dante's age and four years' of college experience should benefit him.
