Very harmful to the environment. Great for the economy.

In some circles it'll be a great debate.

And something for Sonics fans.

“It’s the one thing we have seen in our adult lives that could take us away from imported oil,” said Aubrey McClendon, chief executive of Chesapeake Energy, one of the most aggressive drillers. “What if we have found three of the world’s biggest oil fields in the last three years right here in the U.S.? How transformative could that be for the U.S. economy?”

Are they aggressive b/c their CEO lost almost everything 3 years ago?

(Oct 1, 2008) Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) today disclosed that its Chief Executive Officer, Aubrey K. McClendon, involuntarily sold substantially all of his shares of Chesapeake common stock over the past three days in order to meet margin loan calls.

33.5 million shares in July 2008 @ $74 = approx $2.5B

The problem will be water for fracking. Water is scarce in West Texas and the EPA isn't letting the Colorado River water to be used for the fields in CO, WY or UT.

Can you use salt water for fracking? Doesn't it eventually get down to the aquifer?

Edit: I checked it out and you can do it. You just put it in a containment well.

I knew it. I've been investing in salt water for years.

We could round up the illegal immigrants, put them in a camp in west texas, and harvest their tears for fracking.
