Shannon Smith of Northwestern has won the Honda Sports Award as the top woman in college lacrosse.
Smith, of West Babylon, N.Y., led the Wildcats to the NCAA championship last month. She scored four goals, including the game-winner, in an 8-7 victory over top-ranked Maryland. She helped Northwestern win its sixth women's lacrosse title in seven years.
