Religious types ridicule Shawn Kemp for having been sexually loose. He supports all his children financially. He is the nicest, most helpful personality. He stays extra hours at his many public speaking events to answer all questions and sign all requested autographs. He was the most talented Sonic in history and took them to the Finals. His former teammate Gary Payton shows up at events, puts in 10 minutes afraid of the crowd, jumps into his limo, and says, "Home, James," leaving the children who want autographs crying and the adults angry that they came.
 
Anyone remember the last second double pump long 3 that Anthony Davis made for the Pelicans' against the Thunder to win a game in February? Essentially that win put them in the playoffs over the Thunder!

 
Why would people have anything against Shawn Kemp? So he got around. He was one of the biggest pro athletes of his time. Of course women are going to follow him around looking to jump on his pole. Karl Malone had a basket of kids BEFORE he got into the NBA and nobody said shit. Now Calvin Murphy on the OTHER HAND, that's a bad father!
 
Courtney Love is the perfect Portland product. I remember when she came here to play with that Hole of a band she has. Fans threw shotgun shells on stage. Gotta love Stump Town!

God was that a crappy band live. At least the first incarnation. Best band to ever come out of Portland was Poison Idea. They absolutely ruled this town before grunge. Their albums were like gasoline mixed with cat piss and they came to town looking for beer and junk food. Pig Champion was a 400 pound love muscle. Now THAT was a band!

Funny how Portland is this hipster band capital of the world now. I remember after the whole grunge movement died off how many musicians I knew complaining about the lack of venues and quality musicians. Portland likes to sell itself as this Uber hip arts haven filled with Left Bank anarchist types. It's more Tom McCall Society than it is that, if anything.
 
The first time I saw nirvana they were opening for my favorite Portland band, Completely Grocery, at the Portland Underground. Nirvana didn't have an album yet, and we left cause they were so fucked up they were falling down and tripping over the drums, and sounded like shit. Came back when Grocety was on.

Also loved Hitting Birth, drunk at Abi's, Big Daddy Meat Straw and the Darmha Bums
