Say it ain't so:

If the Lakers don’t sign Martin, they could have interest in adding Rasheed Wallace, who contacted the team several weeks ago, a league source said. Wallace retired after the 2009-10 season, but has told friends he’s interested in returning to the NBA.

I can forgive an awful lot. Maybe not the towel-at-Sabas incident, but CERTAINLY not this.

I think it'd be funny if he came back. I highly doubt he'd be effective. He's lazy, he probably weighs 300 pounds now.
Rasheed and Artest on the same roster. Hilarious!

I forgot to toss in Gilbert Arenas. That would be an explosive team!

Sheed WAS my all-time favorite player. But he's done. Whatever he decides to do at this stage of his life really isn't much. He will help the Lakers 1 game out of 20. I like those odds.

Sheed would be a huge asset to any team that got him.

It's ridiculous to think otherwise.

God I hope he goes there and they rely on him. Talk about a one-way ticket to the draft lottery.

I'd lose respect for Sheed if he goes to LA. Come on, man. Stay away from them.

Yeah, he was a huge asset to the Celtics when he last pl.....oh wait, no he wasn't.

Laker fans think the laconic Gasol lacks motivation. (Actually he's just a little passive, like Aldridge.) 1) The presence of Sheed would add fire to Gasol. 2) Sheed could still play defense. 3) If Bynum gets injured, Sheed, even if he's gained weight, could start at center.

This is a no-lose for the Lakers. While they're at it, I hope they sign Roy. Now THAT would screw up all the coach's planning, not Sheed.

Also, this would pick up circulation for the Oregonian, as they return to the hate paper that they used to be. Canzano would earn his pay again.

if that's the only semi good team that wants him then I can't blame him for going there. but if say another contender was interested and he chose LA..he would lose points from me
