kind of like how it's spelled dwyane wade?I'm sure they didn't speak about it until the second the free agent window opened.
Edit: So it's been discussed. And you agreed that it probably DID happen.
You're like this one friend of mine. Someone in the group will ask the rest of the group "What time is it?". Someone will answer "It's 4:45." BUT this one friend of mine will always correct them "Actually it's 4:43."
It kind of pisses everyone off. Even though he's correct.
I was just trying to point out that, in terms of tampering allegations, there's a pretty significant difference between the CP3 situation and the Heat signing a bunch of free agents.
What's the difference? Or do you believe that they really only started talking about this once they became official FA's in June? I mean do you really believe that when there were absolute boatloads of rumors about their "plan" after Beijing?
That's only your opinion.
Wade recruiting those guys while under contract is tampering. It doesn't matter if you think it's not as bad.
It seems to be David Stern's opinion as well since he sent out the memo against tampering to teams involved in the CP3 issue, but said nothing about Dwyane Wade and his buddies' alleged conversations.
I don't for a minute believe they never talked until July 1. But it's probably pretty hard to prove what happened in a private conversation in a restaurant or hotel room. The Joe Smith situation was a provable violation.

Look, it's a clear case of tampering for teams to have conversations with players under contract (or with their representatives) with the intent of trying to get that player to push for a trade. It's not tampering for players or teams to talk to another player during free agency. Did Wade, LeBron, and Bosh talk before they were free agents about possibly teaming up this summer and, if so, was it tampering? Was it tampering for Chris Paul to say that maybe he'd like to have his own Big Three in New York in a couple of years? That's a pretty gray area as there's no specific intent to get a player to do something prior to being a free agent. I don't see the league having any interest in running around and fining every player who has a conversation about wouldn't it be really cool to play together with a buddy in the future. But, yes, that's just my opinion. Enjoy your conspiracy theories and yet another, "Oh dear, the league is picking on poor Portland again", moment.
Was that really necessary? Also its not JUST Portland what about Cleveland getting fucked? What about Toronto? The league fucked them too. So Enjoy your blind faux objectivism. I suppose you think all politics is on the up and up and some hateful anti-corporate types just set up Enron. People like you blow me away. Enjoy getting fleeced repeatedly in life because you couldn't sense the scam in a game of 3 card monte on the New York Subway. Enjoy the blinders and your nice leisurely sail down De Nile.
The difference between our Darius Miles warning and the Chris Paul letter is that the Hornets went to Stern and got the Big Guy on their side. They got him to write the letter, so that it carries some authority. That's what Pritchard should have done.
Nope. It wasn't necessary and it did nothing to support my position. Sorry about that...heat of the moment stupidity, as is, I'm guessing, your response above.
