For those of you that answer yes, please explain why. Not that he was a great guy, but really why.

If so, and with our history of over doing it, we should just retire all the numbers, and start using symbols.

No for me.

I voted yes because I just think Roy has done more than many already retired. He's a blazer and should have stayed one; retiring and going out with a positive with that Dallas game.

Doesn't rank in the top 10...no where close in most in almost any important category. FYI

Whatever you think or believe; I would like to see this proof of Roy ranking lower than ten of the already retired numbers.

I voted yes. According to the established entry level for "Blazer retired numbers", he qualifies. He's arguably the second or third best SG ever on the team (behind Drexler and possibly Paxson and Petrie). He won the sentimental hearts of the fans by lifting us out of the Jailblazer era. Without a doubt, he's one of the team's greats!

Name a part of the stadium for him if you want. Roy row or something.

This.

No. His career here didnt last long enough.

Not his fault. He gave it his all. In the end Roy restored the franchise back to it's former greatness (Pre-Jail Blazers).

Paxson not retired

1 Larry Weinberg
13 Dave Twardzik
14 Lionel Hollins
15 Larry Steele
20 Maurice Lucas
22 Clyde Drexler
30 Bob Gross & Terry Porter
32 Bill Walton
36 Lloyd Neal
45 Geoff Petrie
77 Jack Ramsay

Of those

Weinberg
Lucas (Maybe)
Drexler
Porter
Walton
Petrie
Ramsay

Twardzik
Hollins
Steele
Gross
Neal

Have absolutely no business being retired.

If we retire Roy's jersey Kahn will immediately want to retire it in Minnesota too.

No one is blaming him. It's not a fault thing. It's not Oden's fault he was injured, but he was dominant while on the floor. Bowie made the all rookie team. It's not a fault thing, IMO

As for restored it back to it's former greatness?

32-50
41-41
54-28 first round loss
50-32 first round loss
48-34 first round loss
28-38 Retired right before the season

Is that really our former greatness?

He's #1 in the most important category: Impact on the franchise. He was the face (and heart) of the team that pulled this franchise out of the smoke and debris that was left after the Jail Blazer roster was burned to the ground. He led a drastically over-achieving young team back to the playoffs two years before anyone had any right to expect, and he did it on bad wheels.

But then, I think #10 should be retired, so take that for what it's worth.

Drexler has no business being retired? Okay lol

POR needs a ring of honor like some football teams do. Just oh, so close but not retirement material.

To be honest though if they could move some of the guys they did retire to the ring of honor then I would have no problem with Roy getting a real retirement. (Won't happen of course)

So you voted that if someone makes a mistake, others should just keep repeating it?

On the bigger picture; I wish we only had 2 jerseys retired here: Walton and Drexler. All the rest are honorable mention or ring of fame guys. But that's why Portland is a special place!!!!

So you think Twardzik , Hollins, Steele, Neal, Gross should have their numbers retired?
Nope. I'd retire every one of those guys before Roy, and I wouldn't retire any of those guys either.

Everywhere but the rafters in the Rose Garden is a special place anyway

Back to a respectable franchise, one that the fans could actually get behind. In the city of Portland it's more than just wins and losses.

Bingo.

I'd have no problem with that.
