Thanks for your suggestions guys.</div>

Get Saints Row and Gears Of War. Those two are a must have IMO.

Saints Row is just a GTA rip off with better effects, IMO. If you love GTA then rent it, but if you're looking for something fresh and original I would definitely pass on that. Gears of War is definitely a solid purchase though, I would say one of the best games out there period.

I think Gears of War is so overrated. It's fun, and the game play is great..but the story mode is so short.

MLB 2k7.

MLB 2K7 is stellar. There could be major improvements to the pitching, but the graphics and smooth gameplay suck you in. You just awe at the visuals and the attention to detail on every player. Right down to the way they come to the plate. That'd be the first game I purchase if I bought a Xbox 360 or PS3 right now.

I love the pitching, honestly.

BTW, I bust out lasting every time the players scratch their jock.

Oh yea I forgot about MLB 2k7. Another game I am interested in.

I do have to say I hate the $60 price tag. $50 was stiff enough.

Well if you're going to pay full price, go with one of the best games. What are you interested in most right now? Sports, action, other?

I'm actually pretty interested in both. Of course NBA 2k7 is pretty much a must have for me, and thank god it's only $40. Might try to get NBA 2k7 tomorrow, and like Gears of War somewhere around the next 2 weeks. After that I'll manage my budget a little more, and decide from there.

Dunno if they do it where you live, but for X-Mas I got NBA 2k7 bundled with my 360 for the reg. price at Target..dunno if they still do that.

If you got Xbox Live, then Gears of War has a much better replay value. Otherwise, like Mamba said, the storymode is great but much too short.

I never really got into Gears of War on Live, but that's because I am absolutely sucked into NBA 2k7 and MLB 2k7. I should give it a try.

The PS2 version is slightly different, but it is supposed to have something that the Xbox 360 version doesn't have. Check Game Informer on that because I don't remember exactly. Anyway the rates on Gamespot are only .4 off.

I'm playing NBA 2k7, and man it's hard. I can't seem to penetrate into the lane a lot, and on fast breaks there are so many steals

Yeah penetrating is really hard in this game. They tried to make it like real life. If you notice if you're in your mans face and you jump with them to block their shots, you will often get called for the foul. Also, the thing I hate about it the most is when you're on a fast break and you chunk the ball to your teammate it in the air, the opponent usually jumps up and steal it. This is a big difference in this game.

If you need tips on NBA 2K7 you should ask 23MJordan23. He's really good at it.

I like College Hoops 2K7. However, at the moment, it's a little easy, even on the Hard difficulty (I realize I still have 2 difficulties to go too). But anyways, here are my recommendations:

Elder Scrolls IV
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
College Hoops 2K7
NBA Street Homecourt
Guitar Hero II (when it comes out)
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfigher (1 or 2)

That's just the short list of the games I've played and enjoyed on it. My personal fav has probably been Elder Scrolls IV. The game is beyond huge and you never really run out of things to do. Gears Of War is ok, but I think it's slightly overrated.

Moo I was just wondering, do you pay retail for them? Or do you buy them cheaper from some sites? Or perhaps used?

You must be a crazy music fan. How can you handle 100,000+ songs? That's crazy. I just stick for about 75-100 songs. I dont even know of 100+ songs.</div>

I don't have THAT much. Maybe only like 20-25 gigs. Kind of low on the dollars now, and I feel guilty dl'ing music.

I strongly suggest that you don't get videogames though, because it's something you'll either grow out of, get bored of, or get consumed by.

Lol my brother-in-law is 37 years old, and he still plays video games. He loves them.

That's exactly it. You could be doing a lot better things with your time. I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm guessing 16'ish. You could use that time to work out, work on your game, etc etc. I just use my 80gb ipod when I go for jogs, or just take set shots, lift weights, stuff like that. I use it a lot, and I seriously doubt I'll stop using it anytime soon. It makes training a lot easier.

I used to play A LOT of video games when I was younger. And it was a total waste of time.

edit- yeah I do pay for most music, depending on the artist and stuff.

See but it's not like I sit home all day playing video games. I love to do other things like hang out with my friends, but once in a while I like to play games. My PS2 broke more than a year ago and honestly I missed it really much.

I'm no couch potato who sits in front of the TV all day, but once in a while I might do it because I can.

I'm not saying you are man. I just know that I was, until I got completely bored with them and seriously got into basketball. I'm honestly just kind of bitter towards them, I wasted a lot of time on it. And considering you're not going to be playing it a lot, you might as well get shoes/clothes, since it sounds like something you won't really make a habit out of. Just my advice though, you just have to do your own thing.

No I understand what you mean, and I'm going to make sure I won't get too sucked in.

On that note, anybody have Dead Rising?

Looks good, so I thought about maybe getting that too.

<div class="quote_poster">Mercury Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Moo I was just wondering, do you pay retail for them? Or do you buy them cheaper from some sites? Or perhaps used?</div>I pretty much pay retail for any game I buy. I end up eventually selling a lot of them and putting that money towards the price of other games. Typically though, I'm not patient enough to find a game used. If I want it bad enough, I'll buy it at the retail price. I personally, and not afraid to throw $60 onto a game as long as I know it's going to be worth it. And by the way, Dead Rising is a great game. It's kind of mindless at times, but dear god is it fun. There are so, so many ways to kill zombies in that game it's ridiculous. Beyond that, some of the ways is just flat out funny. If you like action games, at least rent it.

So, I'm just wondering, but what's so terrible about paying for music nowadays? I realize that CDs can be ridiculously priced, but if you're smart, you can find cheaper ways to buy it. I typically find myself looking for the music used, or if it's a new CD coming out, I get it the week it comes out when it's typically $3-$5 cheaper than the regular retail price. At the moment, I probably 200+ CDs and about 185 or 190 of them bought. Beyond that, if you buy the music, it's typically MUCH better quality than ripping it, which is incentive enough for me most times.

I buy most of my music from Best Buy, you find the best prices there. I never download music anymore and I wouldn't pay for songs off of a website.

For new releases, I find that Target usually has the better price, usually beats Best Buy by a dollar or so. For New Release movies, I NEVER pay Best Buy's price. Circuit City, almost 100%, of the time beats them. I love Best Buy though, so I just price match.
