Should the Blazers re-sign Jusuf Nurkic this summer?

Blazers need to sign Meyers wife. If you follow Meyers IG video, his wife has better handle and a better shooter.

I disagree. Somebody will throw that at him.
Highly doubt that. There isn't that much money out there for FA this year.

Also the C market is fairly full with a bunch of nice prospects that will have just been drafted.

and when I used some filters months ago, he was TOP 2 rim protector in the NBA, behind Embiid or Porzingis, not sure

doesnt matter, people dont speak about his defense and instead talk about his flaws on offense
Hopefully that remains the case, that the rest of the league focuses only on his flaws on offense, his perceived inconsistency and questionable attitude, and the Blazers are able to retain him for a contract far below his actual impact on the court.

I have you on my blacklist now

Nurk fever subsides and then relapses...y'all will be shaking with cold sweats again soon enough

I think bringing Nurk back is a no-brainer. Don't anticipate any teams will throw ridiculous $ figures at him this year, so we'll be alright. He's 23, improving as a P&R target on offense, and a defensive stalwart.

I think it's pretty obvious to see the potential Nurk has. That's why I think some team will offer him the max. He has the potential to be a franchise cornerstone center. We are lucky that we have 4 players with that kind of franchise cornerstone potential in my opinion.

Why--because I want him to re-sign with the Blazers for an amount that won't hamstring the franchise? If so, your blacklist needs to include the entire Blazer fan-base.
I dont give a fuck about salary cap, he should be given max contract, if he doesnt get one, Im gonna riot!

Teams with projected cap spaces:

Atlanta: $14m - if they offer him all of their cap - the Blazers will match immediately.
Chicago: $37m - could offer max - with Rolo signed for 2 more years, doubtful he is their target.
Dallas - $18m - They have Mejri - but he is older, if they offer him all of their cap, the Blazers probably match
Indiana - $47m - could offer max - but with Turner on the roster, why would they?
LAL - $36m - could offer max - if they only get one of their key targets (say PG13 but not LeBron) - will they offer the Nurk a max or retain flexibility going forward?

So, before teams re-arrange their cap with trades etc... - I would say it is very unlikely the Nurk gets a max from anyone, and I suspect that the same is true for the Blazers.

They probably hope they can sign him for $15m or less, but will likely stretch a bit more - but would not surprise me if they do not go for the max.

(*) These numbers are based on projected cap at Sept 2017 - since there were enough trades since - they list might change a bit - but honestly, I have my doubts about anyone offering the Nurk a max unless he goes on a tear and posts a 20/10 run for the rest of the season.

Exactly. The teams that do have space won't spend it on Nurk.

I predict we'll see a contract along the lines of the one Plums got last summer from Denver (3 yrs, 41 mil). And it will be a bargain.

I see the same for Patty C and Napier as well. This really is a horrible summer to be a RFA.

Isn't a one person riot is just vandalism or criminal mischief?

:dunno:
Would we end up with another 1000-post OT thread if I were to suggest that one might hypothetically obtain greater insight on this question by inquiring of ones socio-economically disadvantaged young male acquaintances?

No way is Nurk a max player, NO WAY! Contracts won’t be handed out like 2016 or even 2017 according to all these “insiders” on tv. I would commit to him at 15 mil per or less, over that then sign and trade him somewhere with our pick for a SF and let Ed get 14/14 in the starting unit.

A signed Nurk/Hark and our number 1 for PG.....if he wants to leave OKC.....and says pdx is only team he wants to go to:)

If possible, I'd go in on that. The thunder already have adams, but frankly having a center duo of Nurk and adams sounds real nice for okc.
