I just think it's a young guy trying to use his swagger with mixed results...smiling a bit too much when he should bear down...and I think youth and coming from a village of a few hundred people to the NBA is a handful...hell English is probably still a handful...never saw Sabonis smile that muchHaving a fire in your belly to outwork and dominate doesn't really have anything to do with being 22, being foreign or being on a big stage. I'm not saying Jusuf is lazy, it's just that his focus and effort seem to waver a lot from quarter to quarter, game to game and it might be as much about his personality traits as it is his maturity level. FWIW, I think he's still a pretty good player and will probably get incrementally better, but the "Bosnian Beast" we saw last year is probably more of a ceiling and less of a floor. I'm sure he'll be a perfectly OK defensive center for years to come with occasional outbursts of offensive brilliance, but probably no more than 16-18 points per game . . . at least here in Portland, under Stotts.
