Should the Blazers re-sign Jusuf Nurkic this summer?

I think it should be the #1 thing all teams strive for - yes. But if that's ALL we should care about, then trade everyone outside of Collins...and maybe even him.

Knowing that it's extremely rare - especially in the NBA - to even get a shot at a championship, I think you have to take a look at other, more achievable goals. I think the Blazers finally having a legacy player (Dame) they can lay claim to is more achievable than winning a championship. Personally, that's the 2nd best thing a team can achieve. So, IMO, we have to do whatever is necessary to make sure Dame is happy enough here to retire as a Blazer.

Back when our longest active Playoff streak in all major sports was active, I'd argue that it was important to keep that streak going even if we weren't legit contenders.
Really really well said.
Yeah that is spot on in my opinion.

From RealGM

Sinisa Kovacevic, Bosnia&Herzegovina basketball national team director, speaked about Nurkic and whether he will play in qualifying games on 29th of June and couple of days later and he said: "We've already known that he will not play in June and July because he is yet to sign a new contract in the NBA league. He has everything agreed, but doesn't have it on paper and therefore he has no insurance."

I will explain some details about this article,i searched and found out exactly what i thought...i will explain. firstthis is the link of one bosnian portal with this news in labinot post: http://sportske.ba/nurkic-se-sastao-sa-vujosevicem-hoce-li-dalje-igrati-za-bih/

Al what is written in Labinot post is well translated. what is not mentioned here is two things: Nurk said that he will play for Bosnia at september (if bosnia pass through) and that last sentence in the original article where they wrote: Nurkic will probably get new club.

but as i know the autor of this article, he is one journalist who very often lie about everything... and i am serious. so this is for me not valid and for most sports fans as we all know this journalist. so i tried to found origin source of this interview (they said it is Mondo serbian portal)

and what? i found original interview with Sinisa Kovacevic in Mondo and guess: it is old interview from last year. this is the link:
http://mondo.ba/a776610/Sport/Kosarka/MONDO-Intervju-Sinisa-Kovacevic.html

they said only that he will be limited free agent and thats why cannot play for Bosnia. Not mentioned that he has already agrement with anybody (how could know that in december last year lol) Mondo is original source with correct interview. Bosnian portal is second hand here and they added fake sentences and conclusions.

i can only be wrong if there is new interview which i cannot find on web neither on Mondo site. and - i know this bosnian journalist. enough said. so trust me this is not true.

update
i found it - origin source it is Mondo bosnian version not serbian, and there is written that Nurk has agreement but not on paper yet. but there is not written that he will get new club, how bosnian portal said. just that he has some agreement no mention with who. this is the link of the origin source:http://mondo.ba/a776610/Sport/Kosarka/MONDO-Intervju-Sinisa-Kovacevic.html

So one might deduce that when Olshey initially said they primarily wanted the pick, that was because they were targeting Collins. It doesn't mean he didn't think Nurk had value, just that (maybe) Collins was the primary goal.
