Appears only Marcin Gortat will be staying with the Wizards due to a roster space issue. I know we've got a full roster, but Shannon Brown is a legit NBA 2-guard and Kendall Marshall could be our Thomas Robinson experiment all over again.

Maybe this 5-game preseason streak has me thinking funny, but I'm all about adding the most talent possible and going 99 Trail Blazers on the rest of the NBA. 12 Deep!

I'd love to pick up Marshall. How does the waiver wire work by the way?

how many roster spots do we have? I wouldn't mind kendall marshall, i loved him at unc. maybe he could develop on the bench.

damn, Phoenix is going completely all in!

We are down to 15 right now.

Dame,Wes,Nic,LA,Lopez
Mo,CJ,Wright,Robinson,Meyers
Barton,Freeland,Clever,Watson,Crabbe

If we had last year's roster, it would be a no-brainer. At this point though, who do you cut? Crabbe? Watson? (And please don't say Leonard, LOL.)

I said this in the preseason thread; I would cut Watson and sign Marshall. I would offer Watson a job as an assistant coach.

That would be great.

How do we get Marshall? Is there a gauntlet of teams with cap space that get first crack at him?

I might be remembering wrong, but I think the team with the worst record gets first crack at him, but since the season hasn't started, I have no idea how the league decides who gets first crack at him.

Teams under the cap, then if multiple bids its by worse record. It goes by last years standings until the start of the new season.

Definitely Shannon Brown. He could might make Wes expendable and Wes has the best trade value outside of Aldridge, Batum and Lillard whom we aren't going to trade. Remember this is business and you should always be thinking of how you can better your team!

There is no way in hell that Shannon Brown would be the guy to make Wes expendable!

Wait...do you actually watch NBA games? Shannon Brown, a crappy 3 point shooting, sub 13 career PER averaging, 10 points a game (last year, NOT his career) scoring SG makes Wesley Matthews expendable? I'm not even sure he makes ME expendable.

And that's saying a LOT because Matthews ain't exactly a star.

As for the comment about making the team better?? Um, isn't the whole point of making the team better to ACTUALLY make the team better??

Only person we should possibly cut is Watson. What's with all the Kendall Marshall love? He's not an explosive athlete and he literally can't shoot in the NBA. I don't really believe in absolutes but he's a player in Europe at best.

Wasn't he one of the ones that was supposed to be good? Talk about a wasted pick.

Marshall is like 21......6'5" backup PG. I think he'd be great. Shannon Brown is a joke of a player, no thanks.

He was supposed to be good but a pure passing point guard does't exist in the NBA anymore. If he was playing in the 70s he might have been an all-star.

That's not a bad idea at all. Watson is a bit unnecessary now that Mo Williams is the first guard off of the bench. If injuries hit, it may make more sense to just give the minutes to a young player like Marshall over Watson, who won't be on the team after this season.

Marshall is still worth taking a flyer on. A flier on. Whatever. He and Watson are at opposite ends of their careers. We know what Watson is. Marshall's story, if there is one, is yet to be written. The point is, we are talking about our third string point guard. It only makes sense to fill that position with a player like Marshall if he is available.

I think Dame and Marshall would be great together in the backcourt. His court vision and Dame's scoring ability would be fun to watch.

Ok ok Big Dawg, I can get behind this. But don't come barkin' round here if he bricks 17 shots in a row and starts crying on the bench midseason.

It's not likely to happen, but if it did we'd have the 5th, 6th, 11th, and 13th picks of the 2012 draft. Next up: Andre Drummond. :)

Never said he can shoot. He's got handles and court vision though.

And ironically, only 1 would be a starter on a team that won 33 games last year.

Really wish we would have picked up Marshall when we had the chance - that kid is a pure PG. He sure knows how to pass the ball and has unteachable court-vision.
