Studies from The University of South Florida indicate that psilocin (or psilocybin, which metabolizes into psilocin), found in “shrooms”, triggers new brain cell growth, and erases frightening memories from mice. Mice trained to fear electric shock when hearing a noise associated with the shock, stopped reacting in fear to the noise when given a small dose of psilocybin, much more quickly, in contrast to mice given no psilocybin. “They simply lost their fear”, exclaimed the co-author of the study, Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos, a professor of movement disorders.

All I know is since my mushroom trips in the 90's, I don't show any signs of PTSD!

Of course, there is no reason I would, scariest thing I've been involved with is dating a hippie chick who didn't shave.

Since coming down with this bug, I have been told to try so many different things. shrooms being one for anxiety. I have not tried them, of course, but I find it funny that so many people have

I think, if the anxiety is treatable through more traditional ways, I'd go that route. If the anxiety is so outstanding that nothing else works, that's the time to experiment.

PTSD is at such a level that many traditional methods don't work for everyone. In that case, mushrooms MAY help because it introduces a completely new way to view oneself and ones situation.

Psilocybin has been legal for terminally ill cancer patients to cope with death. You should look into it. Hell it grows wild in your area anyway
