NJ.com’s Net blogger Matt McQueeny spotted a story in the newsstand edition of Sports Illustrated this week. In it, Ian Thomsen of SI proposes some trade deadline deals, including one sending Vince Carter to the Clippers for Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon. SI claims VC would give the Clips star power while Gordon would add to the Nets’ growing list of worthy youngsters. McQueeny doesn’t get it.

I like the Eric Gordon part but Chris Kaman would take time away from our younger guys. Yes, he is better than our bigs right now but offensively, Kaman can't be a number one or two option on a winning team.

I still believe we won't trade VC at all nor should we, he's truly our only go to scorer and besides i rather get back a package of that involves Thornton coming over here....

and just to entertain the thought even more, i rather trade VC to a contender out of respect for what he's done and doing for us....

VC to Portland for Raef + Outlaw
VC to New Orleans for Peja
VC to Utah for AK47

show vc some love thron and send him to a good team

Trade VC for Yao Ming. Yi and Yao every night would boost attendance 10x better than VC ever has, will, could...

I believe free parking and free alcohol will boost attendance more than Yi and Yao ever could.

Chinese people rarely drink the same alcohol as White's. (Budweiser, Smirnoff, etc.)

Chinese population > White's

Yi and Yao attract Chinese.

Alcohol attract White.

So... Yi and Yao attract more. Haha.

Yeh but surely we're after long term fans. As soon as Yi is traded you won't even care about NJ. You'll be interested in his new team, so therefore i don't see why we want tons of Chinese. We should be trying to encourage real NJ citizens to follow there state team.

And I'd rather have fans, like me and I'm sure everybody else on this board, who is into the game and cheers and yells and is effected by what goes on on the court instead of having a bunch of fans who cheer only when Yi and Yao score or rebound. It's really annoying.

It's not only attendance that effects the Nets bottom line, but he could help in bringing sponsors to the Nets.
