Three examples. Heres a few going the other way.I disagree. I want him to play for the Blazers for 20 years and then lose him for nothing. Just like Spurs, Mavs, and Lakers have done with Duncan, Dirk, and Kobe. If Dame ever got traded, I would throw up. It'd be that upsetting to me.

He did but that injury his last season pretty much sealed the deal.Also- Reggie Miller never won championship but stayed with Pacers whole career.

Well yes. To them it's a business. So two sides of a coin right? To us. Not to the players or manangement.
He won't walk from us in his prime. He is due for supermax. He will ask for it, we will pay it. On his contract after that, he will probably take payout to help build the roster as he goes into decline (something Chris Paul should've done).Three examples. Heres a few going the other way.

now look at what players like kawhi Nd kyrie did to thier teams when they realized nothing was going to happen with the team they were on?
I dont want Dame to leave. Ever.
I dont want to lose him for nothing in his prime either.

@hoopsjock made some reference to that. I trust few others to explain it. I know i do not know enough about contracts to explain it. But my simple figures say it puts the team in the tax if they try to keep CJ and Nurk with Lillard on a supermax? If he takes a max, unless he does some sort of major payment deferal we are screwed.
Right now sure. But next season they might be able to. Same thing goes for CJ.The problem with trading Dame right now is that it would be almost impossible to get equal value in return. That argument only holds up, however, for as long as Dame honestly wants to be here. At some point he will want to leave and the team will need to make the best of it.

Exactly! Players come and go. The Team is what i am a fan of.I'm firmly in the camp that roots for the name on the front of the jersey over the name on the back. IMHO, no player should ever be labeled untradable.

If they trade Lillard for westbrook and get Durant to replace a bunch of players then happen to sign Green and go on to win a championship am i gonna hate the Blazers? No! I'm gonna be happy my team won.
Please don’t take that post for anything other than what it says. Next you are gonna tell me that the contracts won’t work.If we want to win Westbrook would be the worst option.
Yes I meant to type Dic Rivers.....
Well KJ’s makes more senseCan i say i meant to say tram???
lolBaseless statement. The problem with trading Dame right now is that it would be almost impossible to get equal value in return. That argument only holds up, however, for as long as Dame honestly wants to be here. At some point he will want to leave and the team will need to make the best of it.
Baseless statement.
You really think it's sensible to compare Dame to people like Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge...?Based on historical decisions by previous stars in similiar situtions?

What? Dame is nothing like this MFers, and he never will be. To say so is asinine. It's still a baseless statement to say "He'll want to leave" when all he's said is he wants to be here his whole career, and then use beta males to justify it. Nah.Yes. Plausable he turns out like them? No. But i think it isn't sensible to think about it as a possibility. It wouldn't be prudent otherwise.
It must be taken into account with regards to long term planning.

Why? Because of guys he's nothing like? Also, this conversation started because I responded (and said it was a baseless statement) to someone who did say that, then you replied by disagreeing with me saying his statement was baseless...Im not saying he will want to leave. Im saying you cNt bank on him staying.

Here was the conversation. Can't show it any more clearly than this.I am only adding my opinion. I think its assinine for any team to not consider a star player leaving a treadmill team as a free agent. I dont care what the star says.
I love lillard. I believe him.
I also believed lma.
