nurk sticking up for his future teammate
think it's a Klutch connection, but it's funny to see him come to Ben's defense after his exchange.
No way golden state would trade for Simmons without also trading Draymond, those two could never work together. Could get a three way going with Draymond to Portland and CJ to Philly.
GSW GETS:
Ben Simmons
Derrick Jones Jr
CJ Elleby
Future 2nd
PHI Gets:
CJ McCollum
Jonathan Kuminga
Moses Moody
2 future 1sts
2 future swaps
POR GETS:
Draymond Green
James Wiseman
Seth Curry
If Golden State is trading Green (which I doubt they would), they're not also trading Kuminga, Wiseman, Moody (and more first-rounders, if those first-rounders are supposed to come from Golden State).
Golden State already turned down that deal for Simmons (Wiseman, both lottery picks this year--since it was before the draft--and two future first rounders). Now you're suggesting a deal where they give up everything they already refused to do plus Draymond Green. That's obviously not going to happen.
If they decided to trade Green (which would be very hard for them to do, chemistry-wise), maybe they'd add a couple future first-rounders. Green would obviously have to be the main return of what they're sending out.
Sure as hell better than those moronic Dame trades put on this site. All teams in this get good comp. But in those stupid Dame versions, PDX get's the schlong.Blazers would be sending some of the picks if not all.
If GSW is getting Simmons, The 76ers get what they want, the Blazers get there's too.
Maybe take out one of Kuminga or Moody

All of these trades scenarios are just that. Nothing concrete. First off, you're not trading a generation talent for anything but a "and the kitchen sink" compensation package. Simmons is not a generational talent. Portland would want Simmons, Siakam, and picks in a return package. Not a bunch of unproven youngins, that absolutely don't fit the timeline of your other good players. I don't see why Golden State would want Simmons, unless they're ready to ship Green away. Toronto does seem to be in rebuild mode so a Simmins to Toronto deal makes sense for them, but not for Philly. So what we have is a J Geils Band situation. You love her, but she loves him, but he loves somebody else, you just can't win. The only way i see this work is If CJ is involved. CJ, and 2021 draft picks (GS) to Philly , Simmons to GS, Green to Portland. That works for everyone. Without being delusional.
Ok now THIS is something. We can then trade Nurk for whatever we need with Wiseman coming in. CJ for just Draymond is actually bad value and CJ plus picks for Draymond is even worse.GSW GETS:

GS gets hosed in that deal
They get Simmons. That's the cost apparently.
Sounds good to me compared to all the ones where we get fucked and golden state gets another shot at the championship.GS gets hosed in that deal
That's not the cost if Golden State deals directly with Philly. By adding Portland to the deal, you're making the deal even worse for Golden State. I don't think there would be a three-way deal and, honestly, I don't think I've heard any rumors that Morey is even interested in CJ. Philly is hoping (futilely, IMO) that Lillard will come available--that's why Portland is even in the conversation.

Naw the core deal has always been CJ for Simmons.
The cost is more if they deal directly with PHI. We're doing them a favor.
For Portland fans, sure. Again, I've heard nothing to suggest Morey has any interest in CJ. I definitely think Morey holds onto Simmons rather than agree to getting a player he doesn't value much.
The cost is much higher in your proposed deal. You're basically taking the deal Morey offered Golden State, that a lot of people (not just Golden State) laughed off as absurd, and replaced Wiggins with Green, a much more valuable player--removing Moody or Kuminga doesn't really make up for that.
If Portland gives up Green, they're not really giving up much more than that. I don't think Philadelphia considers CJ worth Simmons, nor do I think Golden State considers CJ to be worth Green. So you're basically hoping Golden State makes up the difference to get a much more valuable player to...Portland. That doesn't make sense.
