Sign Bynum!

Given that Miami has their full MLE to offer him, I think you can be pretty sure that's where he's going to end up.

Oden and Bynum on the same team. Do they have a pair of good knees between the two of them?

Would Riley be cold enough to waive Oden and sign Bynum for the rest of the season?

No to Bynum. The only teams that should be looking at him are the Heat and Spurs. They both I think can manage him and if not, they will drop him. Kind of the way Pop did Stephen Jackson last year.

It's a bummer because the guy is talented, as proven against us a few weeks back. He could be one of the best centers in the league if he had his head on straight. I'd hate to see him going to Miami and find success.

Mark Cuban will be all over this..I see the Mavs as a team that will take a risk on him

I personally think any kind of success he will have is nominal due to his sheer disdain for the game

Shortest post ever recorded on any basketball site from Blazer Fanatic...it's a new world record. Zen and the Art of Blazer management...well done!

Posts have to be at least 3 characters long or it would have been even shorter. ;)

For 10-12 minutes a game (only) then I am down.

I question Bynum's heart for basketball. Heck, even he said he lost love of the game this season.

And he's a high maintenance problem. Our coaching staff and players don't need to deal with his crap.

I agree. He's a cancer.

It's his likely best option to play in spurts, 15-ish mpg, and not be counted on to play a huge role.

It'd give the a Blazers a legit post threat and scorer off the bench.

Bynum is now a free agent. Sign him! If we can get him on the cheap - it is a no-lose scenario. In fact, he might be that extra big that we need to win it all.

I know, I know.....but if he can keep his head straight and realize he has a chance to win a ring and potentially revive his career in Portland, PDX just might be the City to show this guy the love he needs to turn it around.

????

Bob Whitsitt, is that you?

This...Well said, Hobbs.

Heart, hell, I question his brain.

lets see..make millions of dollars to play a game, or join Dennis Rodman in the oddities section at Ripleys Believe it or not..

Soooo many ways to go with this...... self control.... must...have.... self control.

OK say if the Blazers do sign him to a reasonable contract whats the worst that could happen? The heat signed Oden and for what?

I was just going for a cheap joke. lol.

Bynum doesn't want to play basketball. I don't want him on this team. The worst that would happen is he'd kill locker room chemistry. He'd get run out of town by either the team, the media, or himself. Take your pick.

I don't think Bynum will mess up the chemistry. The Blazers team has been together for long enough.

Does Miami have vet min to offer? Is there a limit? That would be the one place Bynum would really excel in.

There already taking a chance on Oden and besides why would they want Bynum? If the Blazers could get Bynum at a reasonable contract till the end of the year it's not a bad risk.

I disagree. The guy has negatively impacted every locker room he's been in since turning pro. The chemistry this team has now is a rare thing, and we should be VERY careful about messing with it.

Signing Bynum, even at the smallest possible contract amount, would be a huge gamble. I see it like taking a bet with a one in a hundred chance of hitting that only pays at ten to one.

Ever seen that movie Rush? Remember this sceen? Yeah, yeah, he can be a loose cannon. And, yeah, he will drive you all mad, but in terms of raw talent and...and right stuff, there is no better driver in the world. He's the real thing, Teddy. It's what we all came into this for. Nine days out of ten you'll be pulling your hair out, but on that tenth day James will be invincible and that is the day you will wish you had him in your car. You'll never win the championship with Jackie Ickx, you just might with James.
