Notice Sign Reath to multi-year contract. Do it now. Do not delay. I'm talking to you Joe.

Sure.... but can he rain the swish3s?

He is also older than anyone else on the roster besides Grant, Brogdon, and Wainright.

I like Reath but view him similar to Watford (who is also four years younger). Love it when they are part of your team but not someone that you project as giving you significant contributions in a playoff setting. With the trade deadline nearing, roster flexibility is key.

Duop has been fun man. Plays hard, in the right spots on both ends most of the time and has some dynamism to him offensively with the ability to shoot, dribble and pass at the 5. Love him out there with Jabari.

Of our top 10 2-man units in terms of +/- he's in 7 of them. A part of the top 3 man unit as well (Scoot--Bari--Duop)...Top 30 in EPM for centers.

Eye test, box score metrics, +/- based metrics...all of them show that he's be an above average back up center at the very worst.

He's been a wonderfully surprising story this year.

I think his age and experience are actually why it is not that big of a surprise. That team is green as hell. Not a surprise that someone that has some real experience as a professional basketball player looks like one on a team full of young ones. Sure, he is not the most talented one, but he knows what to do - which often is not the case for a team full of so many young players.

Great story no matter what. Would not mind him as a cheap 3rd center on the roster, for sure.

Should we sign Luka Garza too (again, younger)?

There is no rush to sign him to an NBA contract. Doing so would require releasing someone, eating the contract. If later there is a trade that requires us taking on more players than go out, we would have to again release someone. That's a lot of waste when we have full control of his rights with his two way contract and could easily convert it after the trade deadline.

Even then, do not forget that we have likely two lottery picks (would call the GS pick late lottery to mid first) that we will need roster spots for next year.

His stats are so funny.

8.6/3.6/1 on 44/36/92. But PER36 that's 20/7/3. And even though the percentages look bad his TS% is 58.3% which is higher than Ayton and the same as Jerami Grant. His stats look more like a power forward which is great because Jabari plays like an undersized center, so they compliment each other quite well.

His PER of 17.3 is also the 3rd highest on the team after Ant and Brogdon.
His WS/48 is .134 which is also the 3rd highest after Ant and Brogdon.

And like you mentioned, he somehow makes his way into all the Blazers best lineups. His skillset as a stretch big just seems to really compliment the other players we have. Making a case to play more minutes, and has arguably been better than Ayton so far this season.

His player archetype fits a lot more lineups than Trendon Watford.

It's a little disheartening that his nickname isn't "The Doctor".

What did Luka Garza ever show in the NBA?

Bro we are what……5-30 or something…… “clearly better on the floor with him”…….and then he uses the always reliable way of evaluating a player, the old +/- #SIGH
+/-
Is a great metric with a large enough sample size. A 1 game sample size doesn't mean much.

Get a 20-30 game sample size and it's useful

I think he's going to sign a NIL deal with the Ducks.

Says the man who literally cannot comprehend the concept of stat-padding. I guess we should've signed Christian Wood, who always puts up great numbers. How's he doing for your Lakers, BTW?

I love the recognition Duop’s getting from his teammates, and I’m happy that he’s showing that he belongs in the NBA, after all the hard work he’s put in for so long.

That said, I’m extremely uncomfortable with that nickname, given that it’s a racial slur.

is Reath too good for the post trade deadline tankathon ?? I'd laugh my ass off if Cronin starts benching Duop to ensure a loss.

Badji is the one who needs a standard contract.

His reads/timing is super impressive.

His standing reach is otherworldly too:

Badji: 9’10”
Wemby: 9’11”
