Simmons, Lowe talk Blazers/Pacers trade

Even having a down year Hibbert still shut down the paint: 98 DRtg with a career-high 5.0 DWS.

RoLo is one of the best rim defenders and will cost cheaper. I don't see the need for this trade.

CBA is structured around retaining players. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with how many players we get back. Wes and LA are the only ones we really need to worry about. Every playoff team in the NBA is going to want wes.

la 20
dame 15
wes 10
batum 10
rolo 12

is 67 million

seems doable in this new financial reality

He only shoots 47.5% in the paint, which is also bad for a center. As a contrast, Robin Lopez shoots over 59% and is just as good on the short jump shots.

I'm not saying Hibbert is a more efficient player but if Hibbert got Lopez's looks his FG% would sky rocket. We have Aldridge who demands the better frontcourt player to guard him and still needs a double team at times, You can't double LA with Hibbert on the floor.

Only thing that might make it worth it is getting some quality depth. But George Hill is spendy for a backup PG. 8 mil a year? We could do the 3 guard rotation thing. Scola would be a nice backup.

Honkicracker- since when does Hibbert rebound the ball well? He is an embarrassingly bad rebounder for his siZe. I prefer Lopez.

I would really rather just try to sign Gasol in the offseason.

I don't watch much basketball besides the Blazers, so haven't seen a ton of Hibbert. BUT, I get the impression he's creating his own looks whereas Lopez is being set-up for easy shots by Nic 80% of the time. I think Nic would have Hibbert shooting 60%, too.

Hibbert, as Nate (?) said, is a high risk / high reward trade target. I don't think our team as currently constructed (with this current coach) can win a championship. The addition of "return to form" Hibbert might change that. And with LBJ improving his roster with younger, better talent the future doesn't look good - this season would be our best bet at beating the Cavs, because if they don't win it this season they'll win it next season and the season after that.

Hibbert is not a good scorer. Has stone like hands and trouble getting into position to get the ball. Isnt mobile enough to do much once he gets the ball but he is so big that getting him the ball within 5f of the basket and he can get it in the hoop, wont be pretty though.
He isnt a stat machine, has problems with rebounding as well but my god can he defend the paint. Just watch the series vs the Wizards last year. After two games Wall got scared to drive into the paint on Hibbert.
